Two Pigeons
Yes I am! I think we need to alert Alison as well. Great news for Brandon. He so deserves it.
capybara
Ooooooh. Lucky Salford. Yaoqin Shang as Odette/Odile at one performance and Brandon Lawrence as Prince Siegfried at another. Wow! [Edited for clarity - they are not dancing together!] Edited September 9, 2015 by capybara
Two Pigeons
P.s. if that's the first cast for Brum I will a VERY happy bunny!
Two Pigeons
I've just got myself a ticket for the Wednesday matinee in Brum just in case. Many thanks to Janet for the early warning.
alison
Nooooooooooo!!!! I've just booked tickets for me and a friend for the Trocks in London that evening. There's no way I could get back from Salford in time Birmingham, I might just have managed it. I didn't even realise BRB were going to the Lowry before the Hippodrome. alison
And ouch - I now understand why DQF complains about the cost of rail travel! I couldn't anywhere near afford to go to The Lowry anyway. It'll have to be Birmingham. Hope it *is* the matinee, otherwise I might as well take my chances with Sadler's Wells.
alison
Although it is conceivably a lot cheaper if you split the journey at Birmingham New Street, it seems.
aileen
Ooh, several great casts. I hope that some of them come to London.

The company has opened at the Lowry before Birmingham in the Autumn for the last couple of years. Do hope you get to see Brandon! Now you know why I whinge about the cost of coming to London too! Tony Newcombe
I had already booked for Thursday matinee. Lucky me. Great to see that Delia is back. She and Brandon are ideally matched.
Jan McNulty
A slightly expanded interview (and some photos) with Nao in the Daily Mail, I assume this means Nao and Yasuo will be cast in Birmingham!
Tony Newcombe
Good on the Mail! Article lifted from The Birmingham Mail
capybara
For those of us who are less familiar than others with all the BRB dancers, please could we revert to the practice of giving full names on here? With thanks..............
Tony Newcombe
Delia Mathews and Brandon Lawrence
Don Q Fan
Whilst I had hoped maybe to see Nao Sakuma with Chi Cao I am rather chuffed that I will see Celine Gittins with Tyrone Singleton on opening night. The other casts look good too but one can only do so much!
Jan McNulty
According to the interview with Nao, published in last week's links, Chi is guesting in Australia! http://www.birminghammail.co.uk/whats-on/arts-culture-news/birmingham-royal-ballet-dancer-nao-9985702 I am assuming there will be more casts on show in Birmingham, and I also assume casting should be out some time this week.
alison
Casting finally seems to be out for Birmingham. If anyone can find it on a less ghastly page than this one http://www.brb.org.uk/whats-on/event/swan-lake please post the URL! All I can say is that I hope Brandon is getting a performance at Sadler's Wells. Grrrrr ...
Jan McNulty
Sorry Alison, that link is not working for me and I still can't find casting on BRB's website.
Tony Newcombe
It is there Janet. However they seem to have updated the web site.

Jan McNulty
Shame they've lost the page that shows all the casting for the week. I had to reboot my laptop to get the new version of the website. And when I did, I didn't like it! I'm very happy to be seeing Nao and Yasuo for one of my two performances and Shang and Cesar for the other.

I'm very happy to be seeing Nao and Yasuo for one of my two performances and Shang and Cesar for the other. It is all there Janet. In fact casting for Lowry and Hippodrome can be accessed from one page. If we are seeing things differently because of the platforms we use, that is rather worrying. Two Pigeons
May I add my disappointment with the new websit. Cumbersome and time consuming. However, the good news is Tyrone Singleton and Celine Gittens on the opening night. There is the added bonus of Will Bracewell as Benno. My gamble for the Wednesday matinee hasn't paid off but that was a known risk so I cannot complain too much.
Jam Dancer
Gutted!...I'm away for the Sadler's Wells dates and it doesn't look like I can squeeze in a trip up to Birmingham before leaving Edited September 18, 2015 by Jamdancer
Jan McNulty
It looks as though they are still tweaking the website. The different tabs have reappeared across the top of the home page. The dancer biographies (although the content hasn't changed) look better. I still can't find a page that lists all the casting on it. I have had to check the casting on each date.
Marg S
Do not know why it needed changing. It did not stop me booking an extra tkt for Brandon and Delia though! (Lawrence and Matthews)
Minxette
Does anyone know if casting for Sadlers Wells (Swan Lake) has been published yet? I checked the website and there is no (obvious) navigation for casting.

Tony Newcombe
On BRB website click on swan lake production. There will be a lot of info. Keep scrolling down. Eventually dates of performances will appear for Manchester and Birmingham with cast info. Next to appear will be Sadler's Wells with no casting info as yet
