  4. has San Francisco posted theirs up as yet? I watched a good deal of it last night - but the sound was terrible, and it and the picture kept stuttering and crackling. Be nice to watch it again if a good version - as some of it was superb

  7. the frustration continues - i managed to just about watch most of the morning class, then once rehearsals stated it just jumps all over the shop. I really wanted to catch Yasmine and Matthew at the Sleeping Beauty rehearsal, but all I can get is 30-40 sec snippet, then it jumps somewhere else. It freezes at exactly the same point every time in the Scottish Ballet segment; Can't seem to get more than 10secs of Fille, etc., etc Hope that when they put these onto YouTube the company filming today does a better job than it made of the live stream
  8. my link keeps stopping and dropping back to an earlier spot (our Kristen intervieing Ms MacMillan. Reloading the page seems to take me back to 'live' but bits are missed. Think I'll just have to watch it all again when its a bit more stable :-)
  9. Stephen Wright was at the rehearsals for Rambert's 'The Future'. 14. that list of names made me think - round up all the usual suspects! :-)
  15. funny how we all see things differently - Akane Takada's Giselle was my favourite performance this time round; she has definitely rediscovered her mojo, after seemingly going through a patch where she did seem to focus exclusively on technique (after injury?) at the expense of character. Her Giselle was magnificent to my eyes - as was her 'Girl' in Two Pigeons (she seemed one of the few who invested anything into such a daft ballet)
  16. You're right - Will Tuckett is marvelous in the role - worth going to see whoever the lead couple are! :-)
  17. ...and Foteini Christofilopoulou was also at the photocall - some more photos here: Wu Husheng, Zhao Hanbing, Qi Bingxue © Foteini Christofilopoulou. 18. indeed - those posh fish-paste sarnies stink the place out! Adds to the appeal of the veranda outside
  19. For me, the music leads. So Swan Lake is Swan Lake as long as Tchaikovsky's music is the score - irrespective of what choreographers do stepwise and/or complicitly with conductors/music directors to that score's order (or tempo). Think we'd need to qualify it as 'Choregrapher X's' Swan Lake, or whatever, so we'd know whether a contemporary version, or a more traditional one. Of course - that says nothing about the quality of the reworked versions!!
  20. I always think of a review as being a bit more analytical, more comprehensively descriptive of the whole evening, than just a few words saying if you did or didn't enjoy, and that dancer X was great etc. I would expect words on both good and bad points, with words on many of the elements that make up a performance. But I see your point that any form of posting about a performance would constitute a 'review' - to me its just jotting down a quick opinion though.
  21. sneakt sneaks - when they appear behind/around me, I stand to full height, expand chest, use spread arms to rest on the bar (rather than tucked in elbows) and that usually discourages them...
