  1. Gawd, whoever mentioned boot first has really put their foot in it...
  2. Wind is finding every tiny (and not so tiny) gap in the windows in our office - its freezing a s a result! I have resorted to putting my coat on. The sun is warming us a little when it pops out occasionally, now that its come around to our side of the building.

I promise I am not one of those :-)
  4. I was at the dress rehearsal for the triple bill from DeNada Dance Theatre - Ham & Passion, at the Wilton's Musical Hall theatre in the East End. The show is only on for 21st and 22nd Feb. Too long a walk to my nearest one...

those people who DON'T (won't?) put the divider at the end of their pile on the conveyor belt, so you have to reach past them to do it yourself! Grr! Or then take 5 mins to find their purse/wallet after slowly packing everything away, and placing in 2-3 different bags to what balances...
  7. sounds like the mega-run of Beauties is catching up with the company :-( I too missed Ms Hayward's debut the other day, and did catch Ms Takada (who was marvelous), and would liked to have seen both. Tonight will be great though, as Ms Takada always pulls out an extra stop when being super-sub!
  8. Foteini Christofilopoulou was also at the rehearsal - here are some more photos: Eva Yerbabuena © Foteini Christofilopoulou. 9. I can't really do it justice, but just to say I've had another of those "my socks are missing, they were blown off so hard" moments at this afternoon's matinee, with Yasmine Nagdhi's scintlilating Aurora. Never have I heard of so many likeminded folk saying how moved they were (a proper tear in the eye moment) at the end of the Rose Adage. The Rose Adage!! It was so beautifully, and engagingly danced, I'm sure even Sleeping Beauty doubters would have been won over. It was simply, a privilege to be there - and even better, I'm going for a repeat dose next Saturday! I'll even miss Wales' rugby match to catch it. Which says it all (for anyone who knows me in e real world).
  10. Man, there's an opera out on the Turnpike There's a ballet being fought out in the alley
  11. I'm sure the lights didn't go up very much in the pause last night (or I just didn't notice) but the chatter certainly did. It did noticeably fade away though as people realised the orchestra still playing - and even gave them a ripple of applause at the end, before the curtain went up for Act 3 Perhaps people cottoning on....
  12. they are only temp measures, whilst they revamp the ground floor foyer (and the Linbury). So hopefully, this situation won't last forever. As I always stand, its OK for me - I can just pop my bag and coat under my feet or against the wall behind me (if there is a wee alcove there), so its not affecting me too badly. Feel for everyone that is though - but I'm sure the FoH staff are doing their best to accomodate everyone
  13. It just lightning flashed and blacked out last night - no cracks! So no bad luck, and all that :-)
  14. Masks. Anything with the use of masks generally gets the thumbs down from me
  15. I don't think they do the mirror cracking any more - at least, I didn't see it in the short run before Christmas. Think Carabosse just gets blacked out now...
  16. He made a special piece called 'Sleep' which lasts over 8 hours - about the length of a good nighter
  17. Think he needs to work with Max Richter even more (Infra was my fave but think WW has now overtaken it - both with Max's music)
  18. problem arises though when none of the casting is up on the performance/booking page, so no links to dancers (and so no links back from dancer's page). The casting info seems to be pretty minimal these days - often just the lead couple (as indeed it is with Beauty; I'm sure they used to list Lilacs and Carabosses in previous runs, though don't quote me on it). So Fonty, you're not being daft - there is no info!
  19. Lidia Crisafulli was at the rehearsal of 'Resolution 2017 at The Place' - featuring Elisha Hamilton Dance - RETALE, Natalie Sloth Richter - Bedtime Stories, LCDance - Comrades in the Dark Here are some photos: Natalie Sloth Richter: Bedtime Stories © Lidia Crisafulli.
