  1. I'm looking for a single ticket for this if anyone has one they can't use.
  2. Thank you for reporting on these performances. I'm looking forward to seeing Iana Salenko in ENB's Swan Lake.
  3. My daughter got the email - she's not a friend and hasn't booked any tx but I didn't receive it and I am a friend and have booked tx.
  4. I asked the BO today and they said returns will go back on the website immediately although I've not seen any yet. I was wondering if ENB might have saved some tickets for patrons and will perhaps release some of those nearer the time.
  5. I see on the RoH website that Mariko Sasaki and Joe Sissens have replaced Akane Takada and Cesar Corrales (Sugar Plum and Prince obviously) for both their upcoming Nutcracker performances.
  6. it’s very helpful for people to give information about how strike action affects people getting to performances but the post I commented on was nothing to do with that.
  7. Thanks to a kind forum member I have one ticket and would love another if anyone finds they can't use one.
  8. Looking for one or two tickets for this if anyone has a spare.
  9. I had this message from the box office today about SCS for the Cinderalla gala. I think they're incorrect to say that they don't traditionally sell SCS for galas. Traditionally, we have not sold Stalls Circle standing tickets for gala performances. However, I have been in touch with the team involved, and they have advised me that these tickets may become available to book in the week or two before the performance. Please feel free to contact us at that time if you have any enquiries.
  10. I watched the insight streamed on this recently and from that it certainly seemed bizarre and different. It opened in the Linbury this week but as it's still in preview performances I'm just saying that's it's completely fabulous, quirky, funny, different. We all absolutely loved it. From the RoH blurb "Nothing says Christmas like a Greek tragedy – Lost Dog returns to the Royal Opera House with a new witty and irreverent take on the Greek myth of Medea as an alternative festive show."
  11. I recently rewatched the South Bank documentary on them and Mayerling. Theirs was a unique partnership and I still miss them so much.
  12. Alastair Macaulay put some more detail on his instagram about this and it sounds fascinating. I was able to register for it so hopefully the livestream is available to watch outside the US. "The Dance Division of the New York Public Library is celebrating the tenth anniversary of its “The Historian is In” monthly presentation. This began life with the much-loved David Vaughan, critic and historian of dance and other arts, former longterm curator of the Merce Cunningham Dance Foundation and author of the definitive critical study of Frederick Ashton and his ballets. This Wednesday at 1pm, live at the Bruno Walter auditorium and on line, librarian Daisy Pommer (David’s friend and colleague at Lincoln Center), John Goodman (translator of André Levinson and assistant to David at the Library), Mindy Aloff (interviewer of David for his Library oral history), and myself will be presenting a rich selection of the films that David presented. These will include choreography by August Bournonville, Leonide Massine, Bronislava Nijinska, Buddy Bradley, George Balanchine, Frederick Ashton, Merce Cunningham, and James Waring, with dancing by David Blair, Oleg Briansky, Carolyn Brown, Anthony Dowell, Alan Good, Nikolaj Hübbe, Catherine Kerr, Toni Lander, Lourdes Lopez, Natalia Makarova,Jessie Matthews, Nadia Nerina, Aileen Passloff, Georgina Parkinson, Susan Quinn Young, Kristy Santimyer, Kevin Schroder, María Tallchief, Zenaida Yanowsky….Please come, please watch. Long before his death, David Vaughan became known as one of the cultural treasures of New York; the “The Historian Is In” series now survives as another, continuing, such treasure. Please celebrate."
  13. But we do mix art with politics ...... Royal Opera House fundraising galas for Ukraine, the Dance for Ukraine gala at the London Coliseum, the Ratmansky Giselle also a the London Coliseum ......
  14. I have no idea what more or less sensuality in the port de bras from the elbow to the wrist would even look like and I'm not sure that I'd be able to identify it even having had it pointed out by the reviewer. But personally I don't think we miss anything not knowing this. Sometimes one can know too much and consequently find that nothing ever meets one's high standards. Anyway, I really enjoy reading Matthew Paluch's reviews; he's an excellent writer and hugely knowledgeable about ballet (unsurprising since he went to the Royal Ballet School).
