  1. Thanks Sim, for directing our attention to Ballet Alert. I really enjoyed reading some positive reviews of the performances of Mayerling.
  2. Are there any balletcoforum folks in LA watching the Royal Ballet. I've just read in today's links Lewis Segal's less that adulatory review of Kenneth McMillan's masterpiece Mayerling...
  3. General booking opens tomorrow Thurs 4th July . Friends ( ENO supporters) booking is open now.
  4. Hearty congratulations to all but very special congratulations to Brandon Lawrence who has been deservedly promoted to principal. Well done šŸ¾šŸ¾šŸ¾

  6. What a treat for New York ballet lovers ! And the opportunity to see Ed Watson dancing... sigh
  7. The Stalls were pretty full, I was right at the back and there were only a few spaces. Fabulous night of dancing and a very special tribute and flower throw ( carnations ) for David Bintley. And people did sing The Lily Of Laguna although I didnā€™t know it so just listened šŸ˜€ The words were printed in the cast sheet ! I thought the Ā£5 programme excellent value with lots of tributes to David Bintley from various dancers such as Robert Parker and Elisha Willis .
  8. If anyone else is planning to go , and would like to meet up, please send me a PM ...

  14. As a tall lady ( not as tall as some men I know) I often feel I should hunch down a bit if there are shorter people behind me. Its the fault of raking. Everyone gets a much better view looking down from one of the circles...Last night at the theatre in the stalls,a very tall man directly in front of me obscured much of the first half of Rosmerholm.. went upstairs for act 2. much better view ! Cant expect the theatres to sell tickets in height order can we ! ;)
  15. Where did you read this please Bruce ? Iā€™ve heard about him appearing in The Red Shoes and in SITR but not in Swan Lake which is still currently touring to Japan and the USA this autumn and winter . If it were to happen I can see him as The Private Secretary possibly?
  16. I agree wholeheartedly. He made Paris into a real character and he partnered Sarah Lamb beautifully with support and accuracy.
  17. I have one spare ticket stalls circle Row B at cost price Ā£52 ono for La Fille du Regiment matinee 12.00pm on Saturday 20th July. Please send me a PM if interested , thank you Mandy

  19. The price includes good quality wines and a high standard of catering with a sit down 3 course meal. I have no idea which wines are being served ! Would that be a deal maker ? If so I can enquire!? Or you can contact Covent Garden Dance Company through their website. As far as I know this is not a charity fund raiser. The price of the ticket is to cover the cost of the meal/ drinks /venue hire/ payment of staff/ payment of dancers/ tax and insurance etc. I personally think it is good value for money if you wish to treat yourself. I realise not everyone can afford it, but we all choose and budget according to our individual means I guess. The dancers listed are all amazing with many principal dancers. Iā€™m going on the Sunday evening šŸ˜€
