  1. Just letting everyone know that the Newcastle results are out, it was a no for my dd this time. Good luck to everyone still waiting for emails
  2. There is no pointe work involved in lower school auditions. Doesn't matter about grades either, they are looking for potential
  3. Newcastle are usually the first results out and my younger dd auditioned there (older dd is already a JA) we haven't had any news yet. I think it will be next week
  4. I remember your post. What lovely news! I have so much admiration for this girl ☺☺xx
  5. Oh your poor dd irishballet mom. My dd is only 10 and also has developed a small bust, yet she made finals for Rbs, Elmhurst and Hammond. She has also been offered mids for Rbs and will be going to the Hammond in September. I was worried with her being so young but it didn't seem to matter in the end! Tell your lovely dd to keep enjoying her ballet and working hard.
  6. Anyone can apply, associates are encouraged to audition but have to like everyone else. I do think it's mainly if not all associates at finals, and mostly associates that get a place at WL
  7. Thanks so much everyone, she's very much looking forward to starting Y7 in September Well done to all the other DC's. Looking forward to meeting you all!
  8. Dd has been awarded an mds this morning! So pleased for her :D
  9. They are usually held in June. I woukd imagins the dates will go on in the next few weeks. You might like to contact the school and ask, they are very helpful and friendly
  10. Thanks C4D, I may just do that next week. Your advice has kept me sane over the last few years ha ha xx
  11. Thanks for replying. I think I'm just going crazy as I thought all the waiting would be done now and we would know one way or the other what was going to happen in september! DD made 2 other finals and then sadly 2 no's, never mind...... the waiting continues
  12. Hi everyone, well done to everyone who was awarded the MDS, such lovely news My DD is on the reserve list for an award, I have emailed the school, but have yet to recieve a response, can anyone help me please? Does anyone know how many get on the reserve list? Will the school give info re- how realistic DDs chances are of getting an award?
  13. Can't wait! I feel like we're on tour at the moment!
  14. Give Hammond a ring in the morning maybe?
  15. Have you spoken to DD's school? It could be that your DD has done them and hasn't realised, especially if they are in Y6 currently, as they will be practising for SATs at the moment anyway. DD has done hers, and said that they were basic- nothing to worry about
  16. DD and her friends are in the blue group, I guess we will never know!
  17. I was thinking the same thing Happymum, nothing about any academic tests in the itinerary, it could be that they are sending them to our dds schools to complete? I can confirm that groups are not done by age at Rbs though, only because dd has one friend whos birthday is very close to hers and another who's birthday is months before, yet they're all in the same group.
  18. It's not needed now that they have online applications. You used to apply on paper requiring your child's dance teacher to sign.
  19. Not quite sure what I've done there, but my dd is auditioning for a y7 place balletqueen
  20. I think there were 3 in Manchester, Mr Annear, and Mr Powney. I don't recall the ladies name. We were ecstatic when my dd received her yes for white lodge yesterday. Sending good luck wishes to everyone who is still waiting to hear
  21. Our letter has arrived.... DD made finals!
  22. I have to agree, there was a lovely atmosphere yesterday, I guess we're all just playing the waiting game now! Best of luck to all. My dd was the one tap dancing in her ballet shoes as we were waiting to go in! shows a love of dance I suppose
  23. Hi Happygirl. From my dd's experience I certainly would recommend trying again, especially if her teacher is encouraging. My dd auditioned for y5 and was unsuccessful, then, on her dance teacher's suggestion, she auditioned again this year and was successful! Best of luck whatever you and your dd decide.
  24. Hi everyone, the levels refer to the age group theyre in. I think level 2 is years 7 and 8. The level 2 class is 1.15 until 3.45 x
