Haha not sure how I posted twice sorry 🙈

That's what happened last year but the spring intensive said it results would be out by last Friday which I think they were, the summer it says mid Jan.... it's all confusing 😂 last year it was extended deadline but results out just before Christmas 🤔
-
Sorry to go off topic 're RBS summer school 2020 but I can't find a thread. I noticed on the application the results would be mid January, where in previous years I've noticed from other threads the results have come out quite quickly after deadline. Is the date given for Jan a definate? Or is a chance the results maybe sent before Christmas? 😊

Thankyou again. I will let her try but make sure she keeps it realistic haha. We can only apply for summer this year as she's not 10 until after spring intensive 😊 this whole ballet world is very confusing 🤣🤣🤣 Thank you for sharing your experience and advice x- 92 replies

Easter/Summer Schools and Intensives
Crazylifecrazykids replied to TinyNEDancer's topic in Doing Dance
Hi Thankyou, yeah I guess that makes sense 😊 Is it worth JAs applying then? and I wonder how much ballet hours a week they would want a 10 year old (for example) to be training for. I find all this fascinating... I'm obviously odd! 🤣🤣- 92 replies

I see from the RBS intensives it's just photos only. Sorry for stupid question but how do they select just from photos? Given thousands apply. I'm curious haha- 92 replies

My daughter did the Insight day earlier this year, it was part of her Christmas pressie. Parents watch the class too. It was an example of what a JA class would be like. My daughter loved it! She likes technique and learning how to do things meticulously. She went on to audition and is now a Yr5 JA, so pleased she did the insight day as it prepared her for her current classes 😊

My daughter does about 5 hours or ballet a week RAD and NATD and Ballet Boost associates, also tap, musical theatre and modern. X

Ballet Boost Associates - thread for questions, tips etc
Crazylifecrazykids replied to TinyNEDancer's topic in Doing Dance
We had a similar situation my child auditioned for all 3, BalletBoost, Elmhurst and Royal Ballet and to our astonishment got offered places on all 3! Straight away said wanted to do all 3 but in the end we were concerned about the clash of Ballet Boost and Elmhurst. After much deliberation we declined Elmhurst and stuck with Royal Ballet and Ballet Boost, we thought this may also allow her to audition for panto as Ballet boost is only every 3 Sundays or so and is also auditioning for Birmingham royal ballet swan lake dreams and if gets into that there are potentially rehersal clashes... although it's a big if I expect.- 62 replies

Hi thank you... did have a route around looking for a royal ballet hoodie but couldn't find one. At Dcs audition no merchandise at all sadly. I can see it's going to get worn 😂 but hopefuly will be a short thing 😊 x

* slightly silly question alert * Ok so totally new to this 😊 after trying to work out the photograph rules with uniform etc, it got me wondering haha. My dc wants to wear the tracky top nearly all the time (and let's face it who wouldn't) luckily too hot at the moment but is this ok for it to be worn, Where ever and when ever type thing? Feel silly asking the associates office this! I'm sure the novelty will wear off but until then can dc wear it?

Hi I'm a new JA parent and have found this thread very helpful already. We have had a crazy time since May, with 3 auditions, Ballet boost associates, RBS JAs and Elmhurst. She's never done anything like this before, much to our suprise and delight she was offered all 3!... Only started ballet 2 years ago. We decided on RBS and Ballet Boost in the end and humbly declined Elmhurst. The leotard we also found an odd shape, we bought 2 sizes and both no quite right but she loves them. Jacket and trousers 9-11 are big. Her blue skirt arrived too I was also curious about the photo rule in the handbook, so does that mean we can't post pics of our DCs in their tracksuit? I've seen photos of JAs especially first class pics but maybe the rule is a more recent one, or did it mean no photos in the class surroundings? I'm not sure! 🤔😊

Hi My DD auditioned for 3 associates schemes and was offered places on all 3 schemes (we are still in shock!). She's been offered places with Ballet Boost JAs, Elmhurst and Royal Ballet JAs and of course she has her regular dance classes too. After much discussion it came down to a definate acceptance of Royal Ballet with then choosing a 2nd. After research and conversations with teachers, looking at our family as a whole we have decided to accept her Ballet boost place and decline her Elmhurst place but in all honesty we were so humbled and grateful to be offered 3 associates places, that turning down any felt wrong, we are not dancing parents. Still learning as we go lol

Hi no not Birmingham and only did it this evening. I had provisionally accepted but we've had a RBS JA offer now and another associate offer too, so can't do Elmhurst, all a bit surreal really

Hi no not London. Not sure if we get offered taster sessions. Had the email offering her an Elmhurst place and RBS JAs place 48 hours apart, so not sure what we are going to do regarding Elmhurst and her Ballet Boost associates place yet. Wasn't ever expecting to be in this position lol
-
Thankyou SWL is fab congratulations to him too. It's just us parents that go through it lol......but we love them 😊
-
Lol. We are not a dancing family and have entered into this world dutifully following our daughter and her aspirations, as we don't have a clue really we sort of just let her have a go, however I found this quite stressful, completely over thought and analysed everything after she had done the auditions... not that she had any idea I was lol! She just takes it in her stride, we love her have a go attitude but didn't account for how it would make us feel lol 😜 I am without a doubt slightly madder! 😂

We got a year 5 place this year so it can happen! We are in total shock as DD got a RBS JA place an Elmhurst place and Ballet Boost associates.... we entered into the 3 auditions with "oh we'll let her have a go, the experience would be good for her" but didn't expect this at all! So it can happen for year 5 😊
