Yes, he absolutely loved it thank you, glad your DS did too! There was 6 in his group too, I think there were 4 groups of 6. They have all done so well to get so far!

I know the email said results within two weeks but I wonder if they will be held up a bit while they assess the boys who perhaps couldn’t attend in person? Last year the boys attended finals on the Friday and had their results on the Monday I believe! Now that’s a quick turn around! x

No, there were only 4 boys in his group. The group that came out before his I don’t think there were any boys in it. There were a few children looked taller than the rest in his group but no idea whether it was mixed age group. He is for Y7 entry x

My DS was number 29 and they went up to number 32 (he thinks!) in his group, he finished at 1.45pm and another group were going in at that point too x

I am sure your DS was amazing! Nobody knows exactly what they are looking for on the panel and for him to have got to finals they must have really liked what they saw on his video audition! I would say he stands just as much a chance as anybody else. My DS has been dancing for 3 years and I am sure there will be others who haven’t been dancing since they were tiny so honestly please don’t think this will hinder him, I am sure it won’t! I will keep my fingers crossed for him 🤞🏻

Well done to all of the boys who attended finals yesterday. My DS was in the group that went in at 10.45 and he absolutely loved every second. The only problem now is that a no is going to be so much harder to take for him because he had such a wonderful time! He loved meeting the other boys and came out swapping phone numbers which was wonderful. Hope everybody enjoyed it as much as my DS did and lots of luck for other finals and results if they’re upcoming! My DS is off to Tring this morning, hopefully he will see some familiar faces! x

Congratulations everyone! Has anybody heard back yet about timings for the proposed final on the 17th at Hammond? We haven’t heard anything, I was wondering whether to email or not.

I too think they must be planning on doing an open day or something in the summer for students who accept their place and parents to come and look around. I hope so anyway! If my DS was lucky enough to end up with a place I’d definitely like to look around. I’m going to just send my DS with a book, but tbh I don’t think he’ll read it I think he’ll be too busy watching everyone else dance and looking around as it’ll be so exciting for them! x

I wouldn’t see it as an advantage. More of a kindness that can be afforded. Knowing the child across the room won’t make their turnout or flexibility or musicality any better but it might make them feel more comfortable and confident.

I think if they can and where they can it makes sense to put kids together from the same JA centres just so there are familiar faces on the day, but in some cases that won’t be possible and it is what it is. As long as they’re all going and have the opportunity to see the school and experience the audition, that’s the main thing!

Has everyone now received the dates for Elmhurst finals? Those who have hammond finals on the 17th, have you just emailed and requested either of the other dates for your DC? That’s what I’ve done but hoping it doesn’t come across as cheeky!

My DS will be because he was ‘spotted’ and offered a free audition when he did the boys zoom workshop. We just haven’t got around to filming yet, definitely needed a break from audition videos! Ha x

I emailed Tring about five minutes ago and they’ve messaged straight back and confirmed the final audition will be going ahead on the 13th March and they are just working on the timing schedule now, so I feel better now and can book accommodation!

We just have the date as the 13th but no timings yet. I’m going to email tomorrow actually to ask, because we will need to book accommodation but I just want to check it’s all still going ahead before I book it!

Ooooh that’s really interesting! I think that’s probably a good estimate isn’t it about 14 per session. Hope it’s just two sessions per day but who knows!
