  1. I think they will probably do boys and girls separately too surely? Or have we already had a mix of both that are viewed? x
  2. Oh yes, you could be right there! Lots of luck to your DD! We are the back end of the alphabet so will definitely have quite some time to wait if so! Ha x
  3. We’ve still not had any Elmhurst views but seem to have had another Hammond view this morning!

    Tring screening

I don’t know for Tring as we had to send it over via air drop on email as we couldn’t get One Drive to work! I didn’t know you could see views on One Drive? x
  5. Yes, five weeks! Hopefully by then we will have already heard from RBS. At least we know what to expect, it’s fab that they’ve communicated it out to us x
  6. My DS’s Hammond video was viewed twice tonight between 7-8pm 😁 I can’t see how long for until tomorrow but they must be reviewing them now. Hooray!
  7. Soooo hard! Because when the kids dance so often it’s there right in front of you, and always at the forefront of your mind, so you’re reminded of it constantly and you think ‘Ohhh, I must have a little check!’ Maybe that’s just me, I might have cracked by this point! 😂🙈 x
  8. I’m not sure that there’s any way of checking on Google Drive. That could be fortunate or unfortunate depending on your viewpoint! Ha! Sometimes I wish I couldn’t tell, so I could stop checking! 🙈😂
  9. I think is a slightly different scenario but I could be misunderstanding. An associate scheme is designed to supplement and enhance the training provided at the child’s main dance studio. Difficulties can occur attending different schools for different styles when these styles are offered at the home studio. If a child joins the competition team, for example, and does a ballet solo representing her home studio, does she then do a tap solo representing the second studio? Who’s uniform does she wear? I completely understand taking up different styles/extra classes etc where the home studio just doesn’t offer these - but where it’s offered and you choose to go somewhere different I can see why the teacher might be somewhat offended/upset. I think if kids are serious about dancing and picks up classes five or six days a week, timetabling to fit all these in does become more difficult but I think it’s just the nature of the beast. My DS does ballet, tap, jazz, modern, contemporary, commercial, acro, and musical theatre/drama at his home studio. He also attends RBS as an associate. He picks up extra ballet with a Zoom tutor that his teacher is aware of purely because she herself is unable to offer private lessons via zoom. But if I was to turn around and say he was going to do tap, contemporary etc elsewhere because it fitted in better with our evenings etc, I know she would be very offended. Dance schools are a big part of a child’s identity and certainly in my experience they feel that they’re part of a ‘dance family’ and there’s a real sense of team and community spirit. I think attending more than one home school could interfere with this but I appreciate all children are different and your DD might not mind that. I’ve just never seen it happen, that’s not to say it couldn’t or shouldn’t!
  10. If her current school offer tap, jazz etc then she’s right, it’s not really the done thing. It would be different if her current school was just a ballet school, but if it offers other styles it would be frowned upon to do those elsewhere. I would say your best option is to find a school where the timetable works for all of the styles she wants to do. Not always easy but it depends how keen she is on trying other styles! Good luck!
  11. I keep trying to forget about it and put it to the back of my mind but I just can’t! Ha x
  12. Oh my goodness we had exactly the same problem! Denise was amazing in dealing with it though and retrieving it from the junk mail! Hopefully it won’t be too much longer till we start to hear from some of the schools!
  13. Haha we did the same! Had to do a double take! It’s the congratulations that threw us off 😂🙈 x

    Tring screening

Mine did this and just would not upload to OneDrive, in the end I emailed it across via airdrop to the very patient and understanding registrar Adelia, who then uploaded it for me. I spent two full days trying to get my DS’s to upload, it was driving me crazy! Hope you manage to sort it!
  15. No, still not as of yet! So I think it must be going to be a while before we hear! 😬 Not sure my nerves can take the waiting as we get towards the end of this month! Ha x
  16. Not yet! I had forgotten to check today, you’ve just reminded me, haha! x
  17. We are still working on our Hammond one! Hoping to submit it the beginning of next week 🤞🏻 x
  18. That email is such fab news! I’m so pleased they are still planning for in person finals. Boys finals early March makes me suspect we might just hear a little earlier than end of Feb as two weeks isn’t an awful lot of time for those of us at the other end of the country to organise getting there, staying over etc whilst there are restrictions. But either way it’s great that they are being so organised and keeping us so well informed! x
  19. Yes it seems that way doesn’t it! 🤞🏻that this means they’re making some decisions either way and we will hear something in the next few weeks! x
  20. Well YouTube analytics has updated and the second view was only for 23 seconds 😩 So now I’ve no idea what to make of that! 😂 The first watch back in December was about 4 minutes. I really wish I had used another method now so I couldn’t check! 🙈
  21. We’ve had two views too, one at the start of December and one yesterday. My thinking is that if there are bubbles etc in the school the panel will have to view them individually on their own devices so perhaps that explains the multiple views? x
  22. Our RBS video has had another view today! It had one early December too. Hopefully not too long to wait to find out!
  23. Still no view from Elmhurst for us either except the checking one! 😊 Fingers crossed it won’t be too long until we find out although I feel for the staff assessing as they must have so many to watch!
  24. We are still on the Hammond one too! Not much more to do, getting there! x
