You are 100 percent right! The first thing my DS said when he came out as we walked back to the car was ‘If it’s a no I am going to work SO hard and come back to try again next year!’ But I still think the reality of a no will be difficult for him to take. Hopefully they will be able to brush it off and bounce back more determined if it’s not their time yet!

This worries me too, I know everybody is trying to be supportive which is wonderful, but it’s the fear that if (when!) it’s a no it’s going to be even more difficult for him. 😓

2 DC in my DS’s group were also called back in to do some stretches again. (My DS wasn’t) I think it’s so easy to overanalyse isn’t it! The waiting is so difficult. The first thing my DS has said as soon as the classroom door has opened both yesterday and today was ‘Have we heard from Royal yet?’ He wants it so much, I am dreading it being a no for him!

They have just updated Facebook to say we will all hear by the 29th

We are in this position with an offer (and very grateful to be!) but waiting for other results. Argh!

Usually boys results come out first but we are on day 11 post audition now and I don’t think it’s ever been such a long wait in recent years, so perhaps they are doing things differently this year?

My DS did stretches in front of the panel and then saw two different physios. I think a lot of the boys did this. Perhaps it was just different for the girls? I wouldn’t worry about it x

I am sure there is evidence to suggest that boys are naturally less flexible than girls and are more likely to lose their flexibility as they hit puberty? I imagine that’s why they expect it to be slower going in boys. My DS has flat splits all three ways but can’t bend his leg at the knee in his side splits straight up if that makes sense, it deviates at an angle, so his hips aren’t quite square in them. I know several boys who have gone to WL without flat side or even box splits. I don’t think that’s the main focus. Good luck to your DS! x

Hopefully they will sort it for him in a way which doesn’t delay our results! I suppose it’s the same for the international students isn’t it. Perhaps they will hold some spaces back?

Is anybody else checking emails a lot today?! I can’t believe we are still waiting, I think this is the longest in recent years that the boys have had to wait to hear! I know in the grand scheme of things it’s not a super long time but the thought of not knowing to the end of the week is killing me, haha x

Absolutely this! I think if the physio found something that meant my DS was unsuitable for classical ballet training vocationally then it would be beneficial to know so that I could talk to him about perhaps turning his focus to the other styles he enjoys, and not setting his heart on ballet.
