  1. I am so excited to see this! My DD says that Jenna Lee is doing a fab job with them 💗🩰
  2. You are spot on with this about the academics! I think they say they say they value it as much, but take that with a pinch of salt....... my DD will spend the last 3 weeks of term doing no academics at all due to shows 🤔 Me, and my friend are teachers. My DD goes to one ballet school, and her DC goes to another. We both say that neither of our children do as much academic work, or to the same level, that they would do if they had gone to our schools (which they had places at before getting their places at vocational school).
  3. We were completely led by two things...the first it was my daughter who wanted to go and as soon as she stepped foot in Elmhurst, she fell in love with it (very different reaction when she entered WL on finals day 🤣). Secondly, we spent so much time in the car taking her to Leeds 3 or 4 times a week for Northern CAtlT, that it was impacting the time she was spending with friends, and also the time I got with her little sister. So for our family, it was the best decision for us.
  4. Ages 12-14 years though small fitting. In sky blue. Worn by level 1 and 2 of Northern Ballet CAT scheme. £12 including postage
  5. Was just reading the handbook. It says they register the day before their course starts. Do they then stay overnight that night too? I'm guessing they do.....but then it says how they cannot provide accommodation on dates outside
  6. The blue ones are the ones they have to wear for the Royal associate lessons. I remember the days of getting her Grandma to make it from the material they sent!!! My DD will be wearing her skirt she wears at Elmhurst......Black skirt with blue ribbons. Character shoes......she wears Bloch
  7. Got the payment info yesterday. Don't have to.pay til 31st May......thank goodness I have a payday before it!
  8. Nothing here either.....I am sure payment is due 23rd May so guessing we should get something in the next couple of weeks?
  9. We handed back our DDs mids place once we had firmly decided on Elmhurst. I see the associates as opportunities for those students who either didn't get into vocational school, or don't want to move away from home at a young age. Doing both makes no sense to me?
  10. Tbh they are so tired they need the rest time at weekend, especially when they pick up the RAD lessons on a Saturday, and when apparaisal week and show week approaches. The school also made it very clear in a recent email that students shouldn't be missing days for workshops at other schools.....ie the RBS Spring Intensive which was on during our last week of term. So any RBS MA workshops would not be authorised either.
  11. As in going to Elmhurst and attending MAs? If so, no it isn't allowed.....or when one parent asked at our open day they were told no.
  12. Hi Selling all for £30 plus postage. Formal jacket 28" Formal skirt 24" waist and 18" length Pink Formal top (for years 7/8) 28" chest
  13. I just sent the following to another forum member.......hope this helps too!!! Mmmmm trying to think of things that aren't on their list they send..... Oh a padlock....one with the number combo as they have a lockable cupboard in their rooms for valuables. Get some of those large zip up laundry bags for moving stuff in and out of school. Loads of fairy lights and bunting to make her room look homely. I usually make her a calendar with photos of us on for her to start each year with. My dd also bought herself a nice blanket and small fluffy rug for her room at Xmas. Print out loads of photos for her board in her room. I always send my dd back with tuck.....snack bars, cereal bars, dried fruit etc.
  14. Yes they do! My dd helped a some.of the yr 6s out last year with their hair....and she was helped out too when she was younger 💗
  15. Well done all new Elmies! There is a second hand uniform page on Facebook......as we approach Summer term lots of us will be selling formal uniform and leotards. Formal wear isn't covered by MDS, and the leos stay in fab condition so can save a bit of money that you will need for all of the shoes nd tights they get through 🤣 And don't get the Elmhurst jogging pants......ones from M&S are perfect and saves money (you can claim back for things bought elsewhere....its knocked off your fees).
  16. Absolutely! And she gets to be taught by her old JA teacher, the lovely Miss Hatton
  17. My dd who is year 8 is going week 3. It will be her third time.
  18. Well done!! Year 8 mum here and happy to answer any questions.
  19. Whoop! Summer results are out. I will have a very happy DD.... week 3
  20. Agree with above. They never do an even split. Some years are pretty even like in my DDs year.....some years have very few boys. They literally take who they like.
  21. Yes Elmhurst is email. Always seems to be mid afternoon. Always seems to be on either the 30th or 31st March. The year my dd got her yes it was the 30th and my birthday! Such a good present!
