  1. I know someone who was invited to finals auditions from being seen at summer.
  2. Malvern Ballet Seminars is really good. My dd did it last year and really enjoyed it πŸ˜€ I would have also suggested Yorkshire Ballet Seminars but applications have closed for summer.
  3. Those who have been before.....do we drop them off the Monday morning, or is drop off the day before? We have a very long drive from the north so wanting to book a hotel the night before.
  4. Eeeek! A yes for week 4! My kitchen photos aren't too bad obviously 🀣
  5. My DD is at Elmhurst. Saturday they do RAD in the morning and then afternoon is a walk to park for fresh air, and then in house activities such as quizzes, games, movie nights, bingo, crafts, pizza making, spa nights etc. Sundays....she seems to do more than when at home 🀣 She goes to the cinema, bowling, crazy golf, swimming and water park, museums etc. Older ones have been go karting. Also prom fundraisers events. Hope that helps?
  6. That's a good point about seeing them allπŸ‘ It was disheartening for DD when auditionees turned up who had been offered WL places and plastered it all over social media (or parents had) about how excited they were ......she began to wonder what the point was Thankfully she got an offer at the school she wanted anyway!
  7. I am afraid that there will be some young people who appear at the finals for all of ones they make. Despite getting offered places and MDS at WL.... they then go to the finals for the rest, even though they were always going to take their place at WL! We saw it with quite a few during DDs final auditions. It then appears on their insta bio.....offered places at ............ πŸ€”
  8. Getting a recall is their way of checking something. The year my DD auditioned she was not recalled..... she got a no, and knows people who get yeses. If they don't recall you then they have seen enough to be definitely sure of their decision about you. My DD knew people who were recalled.....one was seen for extra physio, and another was taught something again and made to perform it again. One of those got a no and the other a waitlist followed by a place. So who knows πŸ€·πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€£
  9. It is really good definitely. DD really enjoyed her time there, and really did help her being prepared for auditions. She would enjoy it Good luck! Miss Cara will always be one of her favourite teachers
  10. My DD did yr 6 on the CAT before going to Elmhurst. If she does get a place, just be aware of the amount of time spent in Leeds, and that she may need to drop the other associates classes. They do expect the CAT lessons to be more important as it is vocational training. 2 nights a week and Saturday in yr 6.
  11. I've gradually learnt that the last 2 weeks of August are best for holidays!
  12. Yeah myself and my friends thought it was the 1st too πŸ€”
  13. Ah.....but BY 1st April.....so anytime this month 🀣
  14. I was thinking towards end of this week.....along with potentially YBS summer as they always seem to email on or after their closing date rather than the later date they put on their website
  15. It makes you wonder how they choose and what is so different πŸ€” 🀣
  16. And I know of it happening the other way... offered a place at WL but not the summer intensive!
  17. Yes.....it says on my DDs email about applying for summer residential and there Still being time. I am sure they close 1st March
  18. My DD got a no too in yr7/8 birmingham audition. I only know of one person who has got one.
  19. My DD did the summer course and loved it. We are away when the Easter one is on, but highly recommend it.
  20. Quality workshops and summer schools would also be great? Yorkshire Ballet Seminars do pop ups around the country. And their Easter and summer courses are fab too.
  21. Applications close 1st March and they always send out results super quick! In fact DDs Easter offer came through on the affernoon of deadline day! And last year's summer one was equally as quick, with a no for scholarship but offer of place in same email.
  22. I also feel very lucky! Never paid for anything for my DDs productions, including when they hired out the Bradford Alhambra for their big show! Just have to get then to theatre, do their make up, and then pay for tickets and programmes
