I would just be careful of Hammersmith itself having lived there for 4 years at US but the commute to CG is fine.

The new work takes far more time to study and I'm not sure when your teacher changed over but this might be why they have spent longer. On one hour a week though I would say judging by the RADs suggested period of study that it could take up to two years to be entered depending on age and other classes being studied.

Amazing summer school. Exceptional standard lots of high achieving non vocational students as well as white lodgers/elms etc. Classes are not huge lots of individual attention. Francesca is an incredibly gifted person in every way and she brings in fantastic members of RB company to work with the students. They have an amazing time and studio under canopy all seem to manage the heat fine. They are paced well and kept busy.

I believe they failed their child protection in the latest OFSTED so are taking drastic measures recently. I'm sure it will all calm down next year.

Try a Pilates class as well as the ballet as you probably need to rebuild your core strength to have freedom of movement in your limbs. Darcey Bussells Pilates for life book and dvd are quite a good start if you can't get to a class.

How about the weight they have to be able to lift in one hand over their head. Google pics if Ivan Vasiliev he is pretty masculine!!! And he could use Sergei and Tatoos and the Hoosier video as points of interest.

I would search for some of Joaquín Cortes' work. He is a stunning dancer and his ensemble pieces are very traditional based. (He is a trained ballet dancer too). Really inspirational.

I love this thread thank you! I ordered Tale of the Tales the other day. Rumer Godden wrote Tottie too which I'm sure was a TV series or I had it from the library but I remember reading it. Jean Estoril who wrote the Drina books (my favourite) also wrote the Ballet Family (2 books) and The Ballet Twins. There is also the Satin Slippers series by Elizabeth Bernard about an American student Leah. These are def more for teens.

I used to suffer with this but I really worked on my core and upper body (shoulder bicep) strength and once I started pas de deux it seemed to not bother me anymore.

Admin Would it be possible to lock this post now? Only my opinion but I think an innocent plea has snowballed and I don't think it is fair on Miss Monfret to have to discuss all the points unless she wants to. As I understand it the school are fully aware of the situation with regards to the treatment needed and I'm sure, as Miss M says, that they would be pursuing the quickest and best possible path for the injury and the student. I think everyone has made valid suggestions which I am sure have been passed on to Dana and unless there are any other constructive ideas that suit the situation perhaps this is not the best place for further discussions. I have absolutely NO intention of offending anyone at all. Miss Monfret all the best to you all for the summer term and next year.

I know when I was at school a clause in our Bupa agreement (meaning a much cheaper rate) was that we could only use limited and agreed practitioners and if we sought free treatment elsewhere none of our in school Physiotherapy/rehab would be covered so we wouldn't be able to use that.

The trouble is RBS are quite definite about who they will allow their students to see. So as much as all the suggestions are very correct the school and Dana need to stick with a specific team of people or it really is opening a can of worms. But contacting Jack's foundation would be a good bit of advice to follow up. Miss M as well as being a fabulous dancer (I had a student in your year at WL) you are a very sweet friend. When I have some money coming in again I will gladly donate, I know Danas old teacher well too. I had the same injury at US and couldn't get treatment but I hope this works for Dana she deserves it.

Back to Miko. I think BRB is a much better prospect for her. They are such a welcoming and intelligent group of dancers. She is very young and u think she's will get a lot of opportunity there. Wishing her all the best.

I only made that comment as this has happened in the past at BRB ie they have had the home grown students slogging away under Bintleys eye over the winter months and then are told there are no contracts, meanwhile a student comes in from abroad and is given one. I most certainly am not disputing Miss Fogarty's talent or that she deserves her contract. I think it is a fantastic thing all round and reassuring that a privately trained student can get so far with sheer hard work )I don't think social media has anything to do with it. Exciting times!

I saw this. I hope it's not at the expense of one of those gorgeous grad yr US girls, but I think it is a very good place for her, she will learn a lot such a lovely company.

LJB and LSB are fantastic. I am RBS trained and did both before US. It has been running for years. The things I would avoid are programmes set up by very newly qualified teachers who may have lots of performing experience but not teaching experience. As much as they may be good teachers, in an associate environment the teachers need to have across the board /age group experience of teaching. LJB has a fantastic reputation and the students are always very successful in auditions for schools and colleges.
