  1. It doesn’t seem to broaden access though at those prices. I hope she won’t be disappointed!
  2. I think Giselle emerging from the grave is very effective and atmospheric. I do prefer it
  3. Oh dear - that’s a shame. personally I would rather save my money for Giselle than Nutcracker. I would love to see Cinderella at Christmas for a change.
  4. Having watched all the clips above I do prefer the fuller skirts of many of the romantic tutus. They seem to create more of a floating atmosphere.
  5. Oops spent too much time browsing all the dance folders, lovely
  6. Reading all these comments and reviews I am coming to the view that Albrecht is one of the most challenging male roles in the rep. I don’t think I have seen yet a totally convincing portrayal. Still a reason to see more Giselle performances.
  7. Worst place is upper slips - never again - I was too scared to move until the end!
  8. Thanks so much all who have replied to my question. That will really help with purchasing decisions. Trouble is so many couples I would love to see. Have seat booked for Naghdi/Ball at the moment having used one of the gift certificates from cancellations. Didn’t think I would see the day when an Amphi ticket costs nearly £100. goodness knows what prices will be for the Russian companies when they return to our shores!
  9. Hi can anyone advise in the standing places that say not suitable for the short of stature - for someone of 5 foot 3 would that be a problem? I have not bought these in the last so have no actual experience of them. Thanks
  10. Well Southampton for me - may even make a weekday matinee. Lin let me know if you are planning to attend any of the performances.
  11. What an abundance of talent at RB currently - we the audience are very fortunate indeed.
  12. Thanks Anna for that review. Very shocked about the flower throw!
  13. Fab photos Rob. A thrilling start to this run of Giselle, which bodes well for the performances to come as the company is on great form. Also many interesting debuts to look forward to. I was deeply moved by last night’s performance- I had to sit and recover from the mad scene - heartbreaking after the joy of the earlier scenes. Magri was a terrific Myrthe, well supported with Moyna, Zulme and the corps on great form. The two leads - still processing that but agree with others. I loved the very human hug at the curtain call - Osipova seemed delighted for Reece Clarke at his successful debut. So happy to have been there.
  14. Interesting my message says ‘you need to self isolate until…’
  15. I believe that this will also be at the Mayflower Southampton
  16. I am just hoping to be able to attend the celebration performance for RB 100. I will start saving now!
  17. Thanks all - the app does tell you the site of the contact and date so ROH, 11 July. Not sure if the app can link to the e tickets at ROH so they may be able to identify a smaller area? Or Capybara there may be different codes for different areas within ROH. I checked in on ‘old’ Bow street entrance. To be honest I felt more at risk on the tube, especially with all the football fans crowded on the platforms and trains! It’s just a bit late as I have been out and about since Sunday but following the precautions.
  18. Off topic but did anyone else get pinged by the COVID app after last Sunday? I just have but no symptoms.
