Thanks Emerald so this may have been only her third performance in the RB production since 2013. -

I call those the bunny hops - v weird to my eyes. I do recall Osipova having no problem with them back in 2013 I think, although her expression was more of a grimace! Has she danced this role at RB since then? -
It doesn’t seem to broaden access though at those prices. I hope she won’t be disappointed!

I think Giselle emerging from the grave is very effective and atmospheric. I do prefer it -

Oh dear - that’s a shame. personally I would rather save my money for Giselle than Nutcracker. I would love to see Cinderella at Christmas for a change. -

Having watched all the clips above I do prefer the fuller skirts of many of the romantic tutus. They seem to create more of a floating atmosphere. -

Reading all these comments and reviews I am coming to the view that Albrecht is one of the most challenging male roles in the rep. I don’t think I have seen yet a totally convincing portrayal. Still a reason to see more Giselle performances. -

Royal Opera House "Winter" booking period
Shade replied to JNC's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
Thanks so much all who have replied to my question. That will really help with purchasing decisions. Trouble is so many couples I would love to see. Have seat booked for Naghdi/Ball at the moment having used one of the gift certificates from cancellations. Didn’t think I would see the day when an Amphi ticket costs nearly £100. goodness knows what prices will be for the Russian companies when they return to our shores!- 175 replies

Royal Opera House "Winter" booking period
Shade replied to JNC's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
Hi can anyone advise in the standing places that say not suitable for the short of stature - for someone of 5 foot 3 would that be a problem? I have not bought these in the last so have no actual experience of them. Thanks- 175 replies

What an abundance of talent at RB currently - we the audience are very fortunate indeed. -

Fab photos Rob. A thrilling start to this run of Giselle, which bodes well for the performances to come as the company is on great form. Also many interesting debuts to look forward to. I was deeply moved by last night’s performance- I had to sit and recover from the mad scene - heartbreaking after the joy of the earlier scenes. Magri was a terrific Myrthe, well supported with Moyna, Zulme and the corps on great form. The two leads - still processing that but agree with others. I loved the very human hug at the curtain call - Osipova seemed delighted for Reece Clarke at his successful debut. So happy to have been there.- 838 replies
