Well done Amandalou and dtadmin fab news for you both. We love love Tring very much but I get the impression with Tring that they want you to go there because Tring is your first choice not because you didn't get into another school. I remember on the acceptance form they ask what other schools you are applying for which I filled in tentatively.

Sorry to hear your DD is unwell again how stressful for you both. I hope she recovers very quickly and you have a much better 2014!

I think most of us have gone through good times and bad times with our DCs teachers. I think if you have been unhappy for a while then it must be time to move on. It is always a good idea to do classes like associates or summer schools to get another opinion.

Just to let everyone know that the SS dates have now been posted on their website. Shame the junior course isn't longer as DD loved this SS!

We are interested in the WL SS too but have been thinking about YBSS as quite a few people said the classes were fab. I have heard great things about Opes and DD loved Elmhurst and we are hoping it will be for longer this year. We wouldn't do Cecchetti again as DD liked it (and the people) but felt the lessons were too basic.

I really enjoyed this what an entertaining 90 mins. Such a very talented group of dancers.

Is anyone else group 3 for the 14th January. Also there is no guidance on tights vs socks?

Sorry for all the no's I can imagine how hard it must be reading the letter then telling your DC. Hopefully there will be some yes' around the corner. My DD loved the Open Day at The Hammond and thought all the staff were lovely there.

Hi Clara we haven't heard yet either i think they are getting this week out the way first. I'm not panicking yet!

My DD is taking the old grade 5 exam in July then hopefully they will start to do some of the new work which looks more performance based.

We pay £4.50 for a 45 min class.

Sorry to hear your news dancing2003 I suspect many us will also face the same news in the next few weeks/months. However she was accepted and that is amazing news, it is very difficult to get into any of the big 4 so she must have what is required. I can imagine your frustration and disappointment I've thought this through so many times and have told DD to prepare herself for many ups and downs. I do think it is grossly unfair that 'if you have the money you can go' or for some schools the opposite 'if you don't earn enough money (or any money) you can go' but that is the general trend in life for many things. I think it should purely be based upon the rule 'if you have the talent you can go' then our country will produce its own talent.
