I would have given my eye teeth to have such an opportunity! (Instead, the orthodontist took them!) My parents were totally unsupportive, even to the idea of me having ballet lessons until our GP said I had to have them to strengthen my ankles.
Amazed at how little traffic there is on this thread! Is it a dirty ballet secret nobody wants to discuss, or is there really very little stressing about this in the UK?
So can I , Spanner! I have worn pointe shoes - on older friend's and it ended up with both of us being thrown out of our classes for the day and poor Julie got in to an awful row because of it. I still feel guilty about that!
Thank you, Nana Lily. Both my DD's no longer dance seriously but the youngest is still doing ballet and tap and (ballet because she still loves it, as well as needing it) for her drama degree.
