  1. Yes they have JulieW. They have taken a lot from WL this year. 11 boys and 9 girls into RBS Upper school. Good luck everyone awaiting results.
  2. I don't know how many girls were taken last year, but I believe the year before there were 20 first year girls and 6 boys. LTD
  3. Benesh is taught at ENBS and assessed as part of the diploma.
  4. Even though Erik lived/trained in Japan his father is British and I'm sure that he was born in the UK.
  5. What a lovely post terpsichore. My DD and another balletco forum members' DD will be performing in these productions with ENB2. I shall be at the Shrewsbury performance, so will let you have my review. LTD
  6. I hear that all the finalists are RBS students. Can anyone who was there today confirm this? Congratulations to all students who made the semi final. LTD
  7. Hi Bunhead99 my DD went to Wells Away in Morocco last summer and loved every minute of her time there. Feel free to ask me any questions and I'll try and answer them for you. LTD
  8. When my DD was accepted into White Lodge, her teacher let her call me during school time so that I could open the 'yes' letter and let her know the result. At the end of year assembly, the headmaster asked her to dance her ballet solo for the whole school and parents. This primary school still says alongside the year 6 grammar school places achieved, that they had a student accepted to The Royal Ballet School. They certainly made my DD feel very special.
  9. My DD was in the 2nd year PDD and the choreography near the end.
  10. We were lucky parents kiwimum6 seeing our girls. For those people who do not have Facebook, just click on the link on my first post and you can access it On Demand from there too.
  11. WOW that was a fabulous way to spend 90 minutes and I got to see my DD dance too
  12. Yes apparently they will be releasing it On Demand. As soon as I have the link I will post it.
  13. Sorry if I have posted this in the wrong forum, but I thought this would be of interest to parents and DC's who are auditioning for Upper Schools. This will give you an insight in to life at ENBS. The live stream starts at 5pm GMT and is for 90 minutes. You will be able to see 1st, 2nd and 3rd years. From study, pilates, PDD, barre and choreography. Here is the link if you would like to watch http://www.artstreamingtv.com/event.php?id=4 Enjoy LTD
  14. The only students at ENBS that are older than the year group, are the students who have been asked to repeat a year due to injury etc. RBS and ENBS will take students a year younger than the rest of their year group, but I have never heard of a student who is older, being offered a place for a lower year. I hope this helps and also makes sense
  15. ENBS had their ballet assessments last week and their formal interviews this week. (Thankfully no waiting for letters) Good luck to everyone else over the next few months, even at Upper School, it's still a stressful time.
  16. This is not a full list because I do not know all the graduate destinations for ENBS graduates in 2013, but the ones I do know are: The Australian Ballet, Northern Ballet, Scottish Ballet, Balet NDB and Ballett Zurich.
  17. Hi Tulte, unfortunately other children are NOT taken into account in DaDA calculations. It is a completely different system to MDS. LTD
  18. When my DD auditioned for RBS, ENBS and Elmhurst she wore soft blocks and pointe shoes and was not required to perform a solo. This was for prelims and finals. Sorry I can't help you with other schools.
  19. At WL all students go back into the classroom for an hour prep each evening during the week to do their homework, with a house parent supervising. They should pack their own bags, however some students do leave this for their parents to do when they get their at the end of half term or term, but they soon learn that this means they get home later. As far as timetables, at WL this is the students responsibility to get to classes on time and meetings.
  20. Yes JulieW you are correct they are both ex WL students.
  21. Breaking news. Isabelle Brouwers has been awarded silver and John Rhys Halliwell awarded bronze. Both are students at ENBS. Congratulations to them and well done to all the finalists.
  22. ENBS current 1st Year intake is 16 girls and 11 boys, 2nd year is 16 girls and 16 boys. The 2nd year has increased by 4 girls and 4 boys from September 2013 and the original intake was 12 girls and 12 boys. I also believe that Elmhurst current 6:2 has 20 girls and only 4 boys.
