I went to see the preview on Saturday evening. In this cast Alina Cojocaru was Giselle, Isaac Hernandez was Albrecht and Cesar Corrales was Hilarion. I cannot add anymore to Janet's review, apart from to echo her words. I have to say, that I was not sure what I would make of this production, but it was outstanding. Alina's portrayal of Giselle was incredible, I felt every emotion she did. The whole theatre was standing is adulation at the end and it was well deserved. Don't miss this production. LTD

Hi charlie4dancin, on the tax website an apprentice is classed as employed, therefore is no longer a dependent, but if he is doing a full-time degree, then he's classed as a dependent. Not sure how you work out if he's doing both. If the degree is part-time, then I would assume that he would no longer be classed as a dependent on the MDS form. Probably best to give MDS a call to double check. LTD

Johan Kobborg no longer with ONB Romania
Living the Dream replied to Jan McNulty's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
Here is the english translation from Google translate. Dear Prime Minister, Allow me one last message. I'll attach a photo to an email written by Princess Marina Sturdza to Mr. Alexandreascu. This will respond to unjust accusations brought new about Gala in New York. Unfortunately the Track we realized that our country is not ready for Johan and I have offered them these two years and wanted to continue. I knew it would be difficult, but I hoped the inspiring courage, creativity, passion and honesty both in the hearts of honor Little dancer and the talent of countries (those who chose to return to the country when Johan lead) it will be a beginning, a new generation of Romanian artists. Both Romanian and foreign oamani working together to create art under the roof of the theater, and at the same time giving further countries. As acetates is the point of art and culture. I hoped to be a break from the circle of evil and destruction, it is our country. Even small change, be felt in the next generation, even a ray to them gaze and desire to give and to love, and as they themselves felt. But it seems I was wrong, few are ready to see and accept that there are people like Johan - without self-interest but from suit. Perhaps here is one of the biggest pain you currently simnt. When sending messages ii dancers break his heart, but are afraid to reveal their presence when to support. I understand and do not understand this. My pain is felt as though something wonderful (as they say), something that should in my opinion be a standard to them in life (it deserves) .. They made a choice-fear. We all have the right to a choice in life, for me fear and intimidation is not a forward direction, it is a destination -întunericul. Receive messages that some apologize that I was not offended .. I felt so simnt only pity and sadness .. Sorry for trying to protect what has been achieved with so much work, and to ensure the future of the arts in Romania protecting a handful of people to whom it is due to these achievements miracles in our country, it was another scandal ... I assure you it was not the intention aceatsa !! Taking into account the countries know that aceatsa from ONB is only a small problem and I wanted to thank you so much for your time. Not only as a leader of my country but as a man that had been read for another man. I saw a smile in your eyes and your heart and choose to go with aceatsa memory of many ugly things that happened or in a few days. This kindness shown me, I still give a small ray of hope for the future of my country, a future they want tutor people Regardless of what nationality are ... at least for future aceatsa generate hope exist .. I hope to have the honor of seeing us again one day with Johan, a glass of juice as you proposed. Sincerely , Alina -

It's a lot more than that per hour for Corps then obviously more as you get higher in the ranks. LTD

From my experience with a DD working for a British ballet company, the contracts are approved by Equity, so they are already paying above the minimum wage. LTD
-
When my DD was at WL, most years they had one or two girls join in their class. International applicants joined for a week. Some joined full time the next year and others weren't offered a place. So this isn't a new thing. LTD

Hello discomonkfish. Don't assume that it will be a no for finals. My DD applied twice for Summer School and was never accepted. However she was lucky to be accepted into WL and completed all 5 years of lower school. So I suppose what I'm trying to say is, that non acceptance to SS, doesn't mean anything when it comes to full time training. Good luck LTD

I watched both performances yesterday and can only echo the views of Janet, Don Q Fan and northstar. The debut of Shiori Kase as Medora in the matinee was fantastic. She has such precise and assured technique, with a beautiful performance quality. I first noticed her last year in Liverpool in her debut in Swan Lake and thought, this young lady is going to be a star. Cesar Corrales as Ali, stole the show for me though. The evening performance too, was incredible, with an almost full theatre enthralled by the action packed ballet from start to finish and beautiful sets and costumes. Osiel Gourneo as Conrad was incredible and had the most amazing performance while jumping a high as the sky. Let's hope he becomes a permanent member of the company soon. I have never seen Erina Takahasi (Medora) perform before, but I will certainly be making a point of booking when she is performing, as she too was fantastic. To be honest the whole company looked like they were having a blast. If you have the chance to go and see Le Corsaire in Liverpool or at the Coliseum in January you will not be disappointed. It was also lovely to meet a lovely lady Janet McNulty, a true ballet fan and perfectly lovely person. LTD
