  1. As a non dancer myself but a paying customer as a Mum I would be extremely suspicious of such secrecy. It appears defensive in the extreme. My dc do BBO and other than a few terminological issues I thought the JAs who did RAD and BBO were in roughly the same place.
  2. Pictures I know the feeling! !
  3. Congratulations to her. Fab news

With my medical hat on I don't think you could damage internal organs with icing. Regarding the skin you could certainly get a cold burn or frostbite type injury- that is why you shouldn't apply the ice directly-eg wrap in tea towel. Unless you have deficient nerve function for any reason (a neuropathy) I think the pain you would get due to over icing would make you remove it before frostbite intervened. As always listen to your body. ...
  5. I think they often publish during the summer holidays although I know Elmhurst were later last year.
  6. Sounds perfect. Sometimes it's hard to see the wood for the trees and only after you tell someone else does the answer become clear..
  7. Welcome and congratulations to your ds.
  8. Hope it goes well for you. Sounds like an interesting place. Keep us informed about it.
  9. I know what you mean southerndancemum my 2 dc are also addicted- bloomin plastic littering the planet!! I agree with SP she is only 8. Even a child who is desperate to dance needsto do other things at that age. I expect she will go back to the dancing; if not it wasn't meant to be.... And I think loom bands are cheaperthan dancing lessons!!
  10. Neat shopping katymac! Did it involve a spreadsheet?

  12. Keighley- there are 5 lessons a day. Mostly ballet but also jazz/ some costume work. May be worth asking tutugirl directly. I don't know about Moorland. If you phone the school they will get Lynsey Kidd to call you. Again heavily ballet I think. hth
  13. There is Moorland School in Clitheroe which has a new ballet school run by ex-professionals who have also taught at Hammond. It is the week before and £360 residential. We had already committed to others but it looks good.

  15. Hi PITF A dance teacher on this forum called tutugirl is running a ballet based week comm 18 August. Can be residential. One of the teachers is from Hammond so your dd will know her. Not sure if that would be any good for you? It's in Keighley.
  16. You're not alone. That's exactly what I thought when faced with a greek section at a festival for the first time.
  17. Congratulations- no one deserves it more xx
  18. Double trouble Your daughter has been very brave to make that decision. Very good luck to her, I admire her. I agree the employment prospects are frightening. And good luck tp your other daughter as well. You must be very proud of them.
  19. Pups_mum I agree totally with your post. Very eloquently put.
  20. Hi shygirlsmum, I am surprised you have been asked to find music. To me this is job for the dance teacher and it should match her planned style. Do you have to get music for other dances as well?
  21. That's interesting that the SAs vary so much. We used to find when on JA courses we couldn't recognise our own daughters as they were all identical. ....
  22. Hi all, they do have a very particular look for the girls. Very thin, long legs- in my dc's group they all looked the same. I think it is important to know this because lots of fabulous girls will not be accepted because of this. It is frustrating for those who do not fit the template but remember there are lots of other ballet opportunities. ......
  23. We have been advised to use canvas shoes on sticky floors. Good luck!
