  1. They only say she is performing at Sadlers Wells. So far I’ve only heard they are at Theatre Royal Bath, Sadlers Wells and now the Everyman in Cheltenham
  2. Well was just looking something up and got directed to the Forum in December 2017 where there’s a section on Cesar leaving ENB and I’ve found my own comment long forgotten that I was going to see him on Jan 20th 2018 in Le Jeune Homme! So I guess the cast for La Sylphide will be for that day. ( it was never combined with Song of the Earth I found at least not in London.
  3. I’ve got the Programme somewhere up in the loft!! I put them up there not long before the lockdown to clear some space in the “all purpose room” for more current programmes but of course everything has gone more digital since then so am not really printing off cast sheets etc like I intended too!! Now about that time I attended a masterclass rehearsal of Song of the Earth directed by Ed Watson which was terrific! They didn’t combine Le Jeune Homme with Song of the Earth did they? Just trying to justify having seemingly forgotten much about that La Sylphide 🙄
  4. Would love to have seen Erina Takahashi and Cesar Corrales together in Giselle!!
  5. If that was Le Jeune Homme et La Mort with Cesar Corrales and Jia Zhang ( what happened to her?) then I must have seen La Sylphide then as well so not so far back as Queensland Ballet!! I think I was so bowled over by Le Jeune Homme that I can’t remember who danced in La sylphide!!! It may have been Arrieta as James? Anyway I can picture the Queensland performance more but this could have been because this was the first time I’d seen it live. Talking of wish lists I wouldn’t mind seeing more of Roland Petit’s work. He featured in the recent Tv Magic of Dance so definitely fascinating in a nicely off centre sort of way!
  6. This looks very similar to one of the casts I saw back in the 70’s where as I’ve mentioned before I found it very difficult to forgive David Drew for his Gaoler role! I hope Gary Avis is not going to be so good that I will find it hard to forgive him too!!! Looking forward to first trip to ROH for a while on 17th Feb!
  7. Okay Bluebird thanks ….that could be it but wish there was another way of showing this! I will ring tomorrow to double check and report here if I get told something different
  8. Yes after refreshing phone and still same info I was thinking of doing that! Was beginning to think that somebody in the box office is holding on to them lol
  9. How often does the ROH update its seating map? For three days now there is erroneous information on seat availability for SL March 7th! It keeps saying there are 32 seats available but there has been only one but that has now gone. I just don’t believe that every time I access the map there are 32 people with tickets in their baskets!! Where are these 32 seats?
  10. I will Private Message you Emeralds! I think the Forum has probably had enough of my arm lol!!
  11. Thanks Emeralds🙂 Damn it am I mad ….to put it mildly …that I’m having to miss this Giselle …but will finally shut up about it now!
  12. There are always pros and cons with different productions I have found. Not all critics for example are in favour of this production …I am looking through links for one persons review in particular however I didn’t agree with everything she said. I love the RB ending too! What happens at the end here?
  13. Buru..the extra bit of music is in Act 2 I believe…there is a sort of fugue piece of music which is not in RB production or others I have so far seen …not seen Ratmansky unfortunately. However It is 7 years since I’ve seen this production and can’t make this run but I’ve been reading there is an extra pas de deux for Albrecht and Giselle in Act one so not sure if this is to existing music or another bit of extra music. Blossom thanks for that review and the heads up on the new cafe in Bedford St will give it a whirl when next up in London! Great Pics RobS …I understand the curtain calls have been a bit more generous at the Coli this time around!!
  14. Yes remembering now definitely saw Schaufuss son as James …he was very good!!
  15. Now I’ve reorganised so can attend the March 7th Swan Lake with Corrales and Magri it is sold out. It’s been saying all morning that there are 31 tickets available but there aren’t!! Just one right at the top of the Amphitheatre so will just have to look out for returns now.
  16. I feel I could go off on one again about so many shows in Linbury so can expect hardly any tickets left by public booking 😬 Thanks for above post a helpful reminder all in one place!
  17. Well with the break from your usual reality when you are getting a bit isolated at home because of injury any alternative reality can suddenly start to come into play 🙃🧚‍♀️😱🫥
  18. Wow great idea! I probably won’t go up there but on the other hand we haven’t been to Stratford for a while….. Great for those folks up that way though and a sort of middle ground for people to get to.
  19. 😂😂 Roberta! I will start believing the Wilis are real soon!!
  20. Evdokimova definitely had ephemeral qualities! She was dancing a lot at the time I was helping to dress the corps at LFB at the Coli so saw her with Nureyev a few times from the wings!! One of my favourite Giselles too largely for her second Act. She was always totally charming as a person. It’s a strange little ballet La Sylphide but I do like the choreography so like to see it every so often and wouldn’t mind ENB reviving this soon. I think the last time I saw it might have been the Queensland Ballet at the Coli so ages ago now and have no idea which version they use. However did a lovely little Summer workshop on La Sylphide in 2019 where we learned some of the corps sylph work, a rather lively village folk dance, and did some lovely mime work in pairs acting out James and the Witch which was really great fun. The teacher based it on the Royal Danish Ballet version so watched a few videos and that has to be the best I think. This was recently shown in the Magic of Dance in episode one or two.
  21. Am very much enjoying this series again Wayne Sleeps extract of him pretending to be whoever he was pretending to be was terrific. Baryshnikov also very affecting as Petrouchka. Nureyev was also pretty good in this role …Fokine was definitely ahead of his time. A pity this ballet is no longer performed but maybe could only be placed nowadays in some programme which was part of some tribute to Fokine, The Swedish theatre with all the stage affects was a very interesting section too! Two more to go!!
