AliKat
Well done to those with yes letters and good luck for finals! Sorry about the no for your dd mnemo and good luck for Rambert and any further auditions. Please don't despair as I do think that the schools are all different and seem to like different qualities. My dd has had mixed results so far including a final, firm offer and a no. We have not yet heard from Tring dreamy11.

I will tell her afterwards Oh bless you - it is so hard being a dance parent at audition time. It reminds me how pleased I am to be in a year off......
Dancermum
Anyone know how many they call back for finals? There seem to be a lot getting finals... trying to figure out if they'll all be in one class or split over several!
Dreamy11
I think it depends what year they are going into perhaps dancemum.

HollyLou
Does anyone know how many are usually recalled for funding auditions for lower school?
Dreamy11
I believe approx 6 per group but others may clarify that.
Happymum
I can't remember exactly how many got finals two years ago, but looked like more then 6 girls for year 7. More like 12? Around 5-6 were asked to stay for physio assessment after finals. Edited to add that maybe some of the girls were trying for Year 8 or 9 but I remember another group of slightly older girls starting their final auditions soon after my DD so I guess first group was just Year 7. Foreverdrivingtodance
yes what sort of things do they do at a pyhsio assessment. Touching the wall with your knee???!! What sort of position are you in to start with?? if you don't have amazing turnout do you still have a chance?? or is it all about the turnout? Dreamy11
Sorry Sarah I misread this as from funding instead of for funding.
Miracle
2 years ago for upper school finals it was 3 separate finals about 15 Dc in each one. So 45 to 50 for upper school funding finals for 8 DADA's.x
Miracle
Although not at Pre luminary will the Director of Dance be at the finals? X
Happymum
She normalny attends every preliminary and final auditions (exceptional circumstances stopped her from attending upper school preliminaries this year).
afab
For the old forum members who've been following us for years and even though it's not ballet, I'm very proud to say that DD3 has been offered a place at Tring for 6th Form Acting Course! :-) Edited February 10, 2017 by afab

afab
Congratulations to your daughter Afab! Does that come with a boarding place? Thank you kindly. Waiting list for boarding but they said it's generally sorted by the summer. Funding is more of a problem if anyone has an idea how to get some... Dancermum
I think that's the million dollar question!!! We would all love to know how to get our hands on funding Congratulations to your Dd. We have also been offered a place and finals... but my concern is after finals will there be any spaces left or will those that can afford to pay have taken all the slots... just when I thought the worrying was getting less!!
afab
Does anybody know the ratio of acceptance at Tring for 6th form?
Dancermum
It would certainly be interesting to know how many places they offer - the head told me they only had approximately 18 places for sixth form dance (the rest being taken by current year 11's) and it would seem a lot more than 18 offers have been made! Miracle
How odd the current 2nd year of sixth-form dance has about 50 in it! Maybe they are downsizing.x
afab
I suppose Dance, Drama and Musical Theatre pupils are together for their academic studies. When we visited the school, the dorms weren't that big. Maybe enough room for about 50 kids all together at most...
Karen
How odd the current 2nd year of sixth-form dance has about 50 in it! Maybe they are downsizing.x Possibly due to not having DaDa for this year's entrants and all funding coming from school scholarships?
Harwel
There are no way near 50 dance students in current 6:1, 25-30, split into 2 streams. I will check later for confirmation. Lots more in the year as a whole due to drama and MT students.
Harwel
There are 20 possibly 21 on dance course in 6:1 currently. 3 of those came from lower school. So no different to what they are proposing to take in this year, depending how many lower school stay.
Dancermum
That's less staying in from lower school than I would have imagined, but I guess funding comes into it for everyone
