  1. this was reinforced this afternoon, and then some. Its not just the steps being danced, its the projection of the SPF character, and Yasmine has the knack of making this look natural, and such that you're 'seeing' the music enacted in front of you. Utterly glorious. Have to add that it also a glorious performance from Fumi Kaneko this evening. She seems to be right back at the form that got her promoted ages before the host of lovely dancers we are all celebrating at the moment. Feel really glad I stayed sober (well, just a glass of wine with dinner) to enjoy both shows today. It was frankly a privilege

  4. that's interesting - they were trying to get me to upgrade to Q, but I said I had too many recording I didn't want to lose. The chap said they 'could do things' with the old hard disk in the old box, such that i could have kept them, or transferred to the new. Sounds like your chap wasn't as helpful (not that I went for Q, as the rest of my tele technology isn't up to that level)
  5. You can get those back from the deleted list (along the top)
  6. Muntagirov was superb (again), and partnered really well. They couldn't have had much rehearsal time, so all the more impressive. Osipova danced WAY better (to my eyes) then her first show - no mishaps, or fluffed steps, this time. Still makes it look harder than Cuthbertson or Nunez make it look though Hope Sylvia comes back soon - and we get to see some of the new principals dancing it
  7. I don't know about dancers, but the box office certainly makes me shed a tear as they empty my wallet come ticket buying time...

Monty don would have you collecting up those leaves to make leaf mould to mulch the flower beds with! :-)
  9. I think they must have had a commissioned photographer (for rehearsals etc), but no photo call as such, as you say. I don't know why not unfortunately, though i'd be interested to hear why not, if anyone knows
  10. I was at the dress rehearsal for that Giselle when Francesca and Yasmine danced in the duet part of the pas de six - the conductor was going lickety-split and yet they both kept up to the somewhat frantic pace, and in perfect sync. At the end, the whole company on stage applauded them. It was quite magical! :-)

  13. me too Nina - that Fri/Sat in Feb will light up the winter! :-)
  14. well, time will tell I suppose - but for me, two of them are great now, and I prefer watching them to some of the more recognised Principals at ROH
  15. For sale - Stalls Circle standing spot - D15 for the Nutcracker matinee, Monday 18th Dec at 2.30pm. Cost £8 I couldn't get the time off work, so reluctantly selling this. I will be at ROH for various performances before then, so PM me (and post here that you've done so) to arrange an exchange if you're interested
  16. get there in plenty of time and you should be fine, just leave it in the cloakroom. If you arrive with less than 10mins to curtain, you're going to be a pest (though they would never say as much at the door)
