  4. Trust the eye problem is temporary. Graham Watts is a critic, also Chair of the Dance Section of the Critics' Circle.
  5. A rather late announcement by the ROH that tomorrow's Insight session, a rehearsal of A Winter's Tale, is being live-streamed at 7.30 GMT. Clemency Burton-Hill presenting, Joby Talbot talking about his score. No details of dancers. Available to watch here, or on the ROH Youtube channel.
  6. The Patin Libre video was made at Alexandra Palace where they performed in 2015. The live performance was a lot longer and in two parts. In the first the audience was seated on one side of the rink, in the second we were all moved to the end and, as I recall, the skating reflected this change in perspective. As one might expect it was much more engaging and aesthetically interesting when seen live. There's another version of the video on the Dance Umbrella website which is slightly longer than the one on the BBC though I haven't run them side by side to see what the differences are.
  7. Yesterday, in the Facebook thread following his original post Graham Watts said "I am commissioned by many in the dance world (13 organisations according to my latest tax return but not, I hasten to add, ENB)." Perhaps you should have read it more carefully before posting.

  21. Or, as Sarah Lamb said with her usual candour in a recent interview: “Now that I’m older,” says Lamb, “I feel performance is just a series of small errors, minute imperfections. It’s how you disguise them, how you create the illusion of purpose – that is what makes a performance.” She throws up her arms. “If you’re going to do the wrong steps, DO them!”
