  1. At such a young age, the girl has time to fully recover and start again. I reckon that would be better than coming back with even a very slight injury.
  2. I would rather not make a comment regarding his ban, but he did surprise me with his behaviour, at such a critical point in the match. I was hurt by my opponent many many times when I was younger, both mentally and physically, but I tried my utmost not to let them know, that's how we were taught a few years ago. The Federer / Nadal semi is a very hard one to call the way both are playing, I'm going for Nadal though.
  3. My daughter and granddaughter were in very good seats on centre court yesterday, I was watching some of it on tv and kept looking out for them, and sure enough they popped up. They were still there for the last match, too long for me that. I watched some of the Sousa / Evans match, and enjoyed most of it, although I reckon Nadal will blow Sousa away. Has Evans got some kind of underlying problem, as at one critical stage of the match, he just seemed to lose his head, shouting and swearing at his coach I believe?
  4. She's so young and really unlucky to be getting injuries like that, but one bit of advice I would offer is, when you think she's fit enough to start normal dance training, give it another week. In other words, don't rush it, hope it's sooner rather than later.
  5. Paul Jubb was well beaten, but I thought he showed a lot of potential, it will be interesting to see how well Sousa does in the next round, as he looked a decent player.
  6. I would totally agree with Tulip, regarding Central.
  7. Our good friends daughter has the role of Dorcas and Juliet, my how time flies, it doesn't seem that long ago since she was just a nice little dancer at the local dance school.
  8. Well lo and behold, Andrew's back.😉
  9. So you agree they really can't tell whether a child has/hasn't got it in a few minutes.
  10. Sorry glissade but RBS have turned down many a young dancer, only to accept them later, that's the point I'm trying to make. I'm certainly not criticising them at all, as imho it's not possible to get it right as easy as that, not only for body changes too.
  11. Just my point exactly, in other words they can't always tell in a matter of minutes whether someone either "has it or hasn't" as the ones who don't make it early can be the ones who succeed later on. Oh and vice versa.
  12. If they can see whether a 7 year old child has it or not, after only a few minutes, how come they get it wrong so often.
  13. I would have thought JA auditions would take preference over All England, which sounds good, but.
  14. Congratulations to Paul Jubb for winning the USA College singles title, a very prestigious comp. I've been interested in Paul's career as he's a local boy from Kingston Upon Hull, and I knew his grandfather well, and he would obviously be very proud if he hadn't sadly passed away. Some of the big names of tennis won this award, so let's hope he follows in their footsteps.
  15. One thing for sure, no one can take away all his ups and downs from his dance journey, something he'll remember for the rest of his life. Good luck to you both, and feel sure he'll be a success with the experiences gained. PM'd you Harwell.
  16. I think you'll find RBS take very few ja's to WL for vocational training, obviously there will be more ja's gaining places at their MA scheme.
  17. There's a big difference between students gaining places at WL and their associate programme.
  18. Oh of course it is, I should have remembered, GDD was offered ASA, but never went.
  19. Is the SA2 you mention, Advanced Associates?
  20. Yes the girl is a 2nd year student at Central.
  21. Very good news and good luck, it's such a shame there are so many young dancers in your situation. There are bursaries to be had, it's just a case of searching and applying, but it maybe depends which area you live in, not sure.
  22. One thing for sure, for those not making WL, although it might be a little disappointing at first, it certainly won't be the end of the journey as there are plenty of other routes equally as good.
  23. He might beat Jimmy Connors record yet!!
