  1. Years 5/6/7 were together as Juniors last Summer but unsure if that will happen again. They dance just about all day, the rooms are in 2’s or 3’s of a similar age. The food is very good and the coaching excellent. Your DD will have a great time.
  2. My DD has attended Malvern, YBS and Elmhurst and has enjoyed them all in equal measure. Malvern and Elmhurst applications have not opened yet but YBS is currently open with an option of 4 weeks in summer
  3. I cant remember parents getting a chance to ask questions at the auditions but Tring will ask her why she would like to go there. There was also an academics test at Tring. Reading and spelling, possibly arithmetic too. wishing you the best of luck 🤞🏻
  4. Just remembered the first in person auditions for Elmhurst were semi-finals, the preliminary audition was the photos!
  5. Hi. Elmhurst applications opened in September and there were 3 Tuesdays offered for preliminary auditions in January if i remember correctly. You were then invited to a final in March. Tring applications also opened in September and my DD attended her first audition in November i think but there were plenty of other dates that i saw people attending well into the new year. You can then be invited to a funding audition for MDS but this isnt offered to everyone. I was told that they have about 5 MDS to offer across the whole school but unsure how accurate that is. With White Lodge there is a preliminary audition, semi finals then finals. Dates are on the website for prelims and finals. it is very tiring and our JA teacher recommended not doing too many so we chose those 3 also. Wishing your DD the best of luck 🤞🏻
  6. I dont have anything but there are tutorials on Youtube if that helps
  7. The main thing is the children are happy and content which i am sure the school will appreciate if they decide to take their phones. I never hear from my DD at these residentials anyway 🤣
  8. There will always be dancers at different levels but RBS if anything is about getting the foundations correct so wouldn't be anything too complicated. It will be a lovely experience for her. And if you decide to apply, wishing you the best of luck.
  9. Hi. No there is nothing on the website that states fees for RAD or Music lessons. We are not entitled to MDS so full fee paying and wanting to know the extra costs when we get handed the bill for the first term very soon. I will just email them.
  10. Hello. Is there anyone who can tell me the termly fees for the music lessons and RAD lessons at Elmhurst if you are not on MDS? Do the music lessons start in the first term? I know RAD starts in Jan usually but sometimes Easter. I can email the school but hoping someone might have the answer.
  11. My daughter is attending and i will probably give her £5-£10 tuck money. I would imagine the snacks are included as they will be hungry between meals so the snacks will keep them going
  12. We started our Year 6 journey this year with a lot of uncertainty from us parents about vocational schools. My daughter has wanted this for a long time but we weren't sure about her going off at such a young age plus the costs involved. We nearly didnt apply! However, we did start the process and situations and feelings can change and she did receive offers from excellent schools. We are very happy with where she will be starting in September. My point is, even if you are unsure, if you are able to, then go with it and make your decision at the end rather than regret not trying. Its a great experience in itself. Good luck 🤞🏻
  13. My DDs first time attending the Junior Intensive this year. Which faculty has been there in previous years? Is it Elmhurst teaching staff or do they get external people in? Do we find out who it will be?
  14. Just wondering if anyone has been offered a place from the waiting list yet?
  15. I think you will know by the end of June. You will receive your handbook with all the information and uniform etc. I would recommend ordering the uniform as soon as possible.
  16. Congratulations to everyone who got a yes and waitlisted place. It is a very special program. To anyone who received a no, my daughter applied in 2020 for a year 4 place. Results came out Oct and she received a no. Fast forward to Feb 21 and she applied for a Year 5 place and then got a yes. She was only one of two to make it to White Lodge finals so dont give up hope.
  17. Congratulations to your DD. Unless RBS decide to change the times, the Year 4&5 JA class in Leeds are 12.15-2.30pm and the Year 6 class is 9.30-11.45
  18. Hi I cant speak for Hammond but my DD is starting at Elmhurst in Sept. We set up an account with the dancewear supplier and order the uniform for through them which they bill us for. If on MDS, it gets taken out of the allowance until that has gone and then you start paying. Our formal uniform is not included in MDS however.
  19. You could see if there are videos on Youtube for free. Otherwise Claudia Dean does lots of tutorials for stretching and all sorts
  20. My DD is not at a vocational school and has been awarded a place in week 3. Does anyone know how many they take each week? And are the classes split into Juniors/Inters and Seniors? It will be her first time attending.
  21. Has anyone had any place offers from waitlist this year yet
