  1. I received the Winter Mag a few days ago....Manon is priced at: Stalls £140/120/99 SC far Sides £49/34/14/8 Stalls Circle £140/120/99/79/63/49/34/14 Grand Tier £140 Balcony £120/99/79/49/14 Slips £14/8 Amphi £99/79/63/49/34/14/8
  2. At least the ROH provide credit vouchers if you want to return tickets for a booking, so you could consider cancelling The Limit and booking Don Q. instead....
  3. I feel your pain @art_enthusiast! So let us hope for an injury-free season for Akane (and indeed all for the dancers) and that you now get to see her perform Kitri. If you want to see her in the role in advance, it is possible to buy a disc of this from Japan, in the last run (with Alex Campbell); unfortunately the ROH didn't release it here. Whilst I am very pleased that Akane and Luca are back on for the 28th October, it is frustrating that the error means a somewhat more limited seat choice than I could have had yesterday.
  4. Actually there is! A search window appears when you click on A-Z, along with a filter option.
  5. I also had a bouncing waiting time, initially between "10mins" and "1 min" but then it settled down and I ended up with a 10 minute wait as first stated. Apart from that, the booking itself went very smoothly. I agree the website currently has various serious issues, but I wouldn't go so far as to call the actual booking system a disgrace...I have always found it pretty good.
  6. Yes they were originally also down for 28th Oct evening as stated by @capybara above. One performance only seems somewhat of an insult somehow - albeit better than none!
  7. Just spotted this too @capybara.....very disappointing as this promises to be such a great pairing, and deserves more than one outing.
  8. Thanks but I can book tomorrow too, so I should find out myself!
  9. Has booking gone OK today for those Friends for whom booking is open?
  10. Hi @Benjaminand @oncnp ...I was wondering where this information was posted? Presumably the Takada interview should be available by now but I can't see any link or reference to it on the (hopelessly organised) ROH stream pages. Has anyone seen it? I DO see a reference and a potential link resulting from a Search for "Akane Takada" on the main website, but that link (along with many other links for her and for other dancers) is just giving me the dreaded "Technical error (error 500)" at the moment.
  11. @Naomi M It would be lovely if you could let us know how the performance went ?
  12. Yes I mentioned her...another lovely dancer and a good promotion prospect.
  13. That's how I feel @Linnzi5. We lack here the face to face interaction which tends to moderate our speech and behaviour. Humour and sarcasm can be fine of course but I hope I have learned I shouldn't just assume my own questionable sense of humour, or sarcasm, will be appropriate (even the use of emojis!), especially if personally deployed, in effect, against other posters as part of an impassioned ballet discussion. It can descend into the sort of rather unpleasant back and forth that has arisen recently. I know I sometimes have to imagine if I would respond in a particular way if it were a "live" discussion, or alternatively if a statement would not work well unless deliverable / explainable face to face. If it seems my post reasonably could be seen as ill-judged, I hope I would think about a re-write in advance of assuming that if any offence were to be taken, or misunderstanding were to arise, it must be at the intent, or the fault, of the reader.
  14. Not very inspiring, for me, from this clip...a few standard ballet moves mixed in repetitively with a bit of half-hearted air guitar, cliched jumping on the spot on two feet, and mild head banging. Not convinced that either "Paranoid" or ballet benefits from this treatment!
  15. For the most part, the casting just announced for Don Quixote and The Nutcracker in 23/24 seems to follow the "preferred" option referred to at the start of this thread.
  16. ....and she was also paired with Sambe in the first tranche of SB too before her own injury...so that doesn't really count either! I suppose all that has happened is that they needed to look further afield as her last Don Q partner, Alex Campbell, is not available this time as discussed above... Sambe would have been a possibility again but two rounds with Osipova was perhaps judged to be enough! Anyway, very pleased Luca Acri is getting a debut.
  17. Good point @Dawnstar..I had forgotten that. Yes I do agree @capybara, these were all excellent First Soloist partners, and I am looking forward to Takada/Acri very much. I can't immediately recall them dancing together before? Also I was thinking Takada/Hay would have been great..has James danced the role before?
  18. ....and thinking about this, if looked at purely in terms of the Company ranking of her partners, Akane might be seen as rather getting the short straw recently, with First Soloists dancing with her in Cinderella, The Sleeping Beauty and now Don Q.
  19. Yes, he is such a good dancer. The only non-Principal to be cast in the role, unless a promotion is in the offing, which would suprise me, with all due respect to him!
  20. I saw your post as a rather rude deployment of heavy sarcasm against members of the forum who had expressed different views to your own - unnecessary and uncalled for.
  21. Is it the same with dance though? Dance, by definition, is always about human expression and movement, unlike art. Perhaps that allows us to expect some sort of context to hang on to, at least by way of a title, if not a detailed explanation.
  22. Oh dear, that's a real shame Sim....hope you haven't been too poorly 😞
