  1. We were told yesterday, results in 7-10 days. Xx
  2. Parking at the Midlands Art centre just down the road 10 minute walk and free - done it today nice stroll after being inside a very warm and dry building for most of the day before long drive home. The Art centre has nice cafe for lunch whilst you have to leave DC to it. Also please don't worry about the informal discussion either it really is just a chat where they make some notes - mainly about the type of child that is auditioning and whether they will need extra support. Good luck to all the boys tom Xx
  3. You will receive alternative car park info email about a week before final audition. For lower school final we have been given the cricket ground or the Arts centre both about 10 min walk. Ideal unless it's pouring with rain like they give it tomorrow. Good luck to all the girls auditioning tomorrow xx
  4. Waiting list for us too.... again.
  5. Nothing here yet! If they email on mass the yes's must be out then?
  6. Which yrs is the workshop for pls? My dd is yr 7 MA and havent heard about a workshop, I am assuming it is for Yr 8 or 9. Xx
  7. Bluebird you are correct. An MA was offered a place at Elmhurst post summer school once the term had started. I also know of a WL finalist that wasn't given an MA place initially, then once all the offers had been accepted/refused, 3 dc i know were offered an MA place. Xx
  8. I totally agree with you Harwell however they are only picking the best of the best, to supply some of the best ballet companies in the world. That shouldn't deter dc from perusing their dream and to be chosen for 1 school is amazing and as we know children grow and change for better and worse so no-one really knows what the future holds - children/adolescents also change their minds! Xx
  9. To be honest this yr was our 3rd yr auditioning. The first was for JA which was a pleasant experience. The last 2 yrs was for lower school and RBS was very much the poor relation when compared to Elmhurst where you were made to feel welcome given a presentation about what to expect from the school, a brief tour of the School and invited to view the last 5 mins of the audition where you could see the process of the audition. Last yr there were 4 on the Preliminary panel, this yr 3 on the panel. The auditions are always filmed , and the AD is always part of the paneL and gives a brief talk at the end. You come away feeling that it is a fair process whatever the result may be - however RBS couldn't be further from this.
  10. Go for it ArucariaBallerina you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain if not a place lots of info and experience for next time. Good luck, it's a tough world of ballet out there but someone has to get those places xx
  11. DP as Hopeful said even though you only ticked MA'S they still invite those to final audition - if dc fit their criteria on the day and if they have places. Good luck for an MA place and try again next yr (you won't make the same mistake again). Enjoy your ballet for the rest of this year as the next 7 months will fly by and off we go again to stress city xx
  12. We had the performed well email so not sure. Xx
  13. Well done to all the yes's today, really pleased for all those DC. You must all be very proud. After a lot of no's in the last few days it's lovely to hear some positivity. Commiserations Amos73 and ballet broke my bank. I only know of 1 girl through finals for yr8 - Bath MA. Really tough this yr. No doubt we will all be here again next yr, for those not successful this year.Good luck to those still waiting xx
  14. Plymouth currently only hold associates for Yr 4/5/6 starts approx 10.00 for yr8, 12.00 for Yr 5 and 13.45 for Yr 6. There are no extended associates at Plymouth, however my yr7 dd is re-doing yr 6 as too far to Birmingham and not enough call for extended. Please spread the word and if interested make enquiries for extended in Plymouth. If there is a call for it, they may put on a class - here's hoping xx
  15. ArucariaBallerina yes we were Bath. I know of no's for Yr 8 and yes for yr7. So Bath results should all be out. Good luck to those waiting sorry to all the not yet and we'll done to all the yes's. At least the waiting is nearly over xxx
  16. Thank you Pups_mum. DD is an MA and has excellent dance teachers and attends a great academic school too so very happy to continue as we are - however dd would love to go to vocational school and has real encouragement from dance friends and school friends -who all get very excited around audition times, and does actually lighten all those darkest moments when the no's come. Still sending good wishes to all those yet to hear xx
  17. Thank you cotes du rhone! Have you heard yet? Xx
  18. DD friend not got final audition either. Never mind, there is always next time, and all good practice and experience of auditioning. Interestingly dd said her RBS audition went better than Elmhurst audition. Just shows each school look for different attributes and abilities. Xx
  19. Results are out. It was a no for dd this time. She will be devastated but has Elmhurst final to look forward to. Wishing everyone good luck for all their DC. Xxx
  20. How many others are waiting for finals forYr 8 entry?
  21. Hi Ruth, having looked at the application form. These would run as 2 separate classes so yes I am sure you could put London 24wks as 2nd choice and London 32 wks as 1st choice. X
  22. Anyone received anything yet. The first 2 weeks waiting was ok, but the last week has been torture and getting worse by the day. Must be soon, fingers crossed. Xx
  23. I don't think they would allow someone to take 2 places - one in each venue. I believe the 2nd choice is if the 1st choice was full. X
  24. Hi Lisa, we had a cat very similar to Jacquelines. Treacle lived to 18 and sadly died in Sept of a tumour, but had been fit up until then. However for the previous 18 months he kept doing wee's and poo's in the house even straight after being outdoors and we used to have a litter tray in the winter but had kept this over the summer due to messing indoors but only used it occasionally. We found it quite stressful and luckily the children were old enough (and sensible enough) to look out for wee and poo when they came downstairs in the morning. It was a relief when he passed away but sure he had dementia - wasn't his usual self and would cry for no reason for last 2 years (at the end he could have been in pain from tumour but didn't know he had tumour till he went to vets to be put to sleep and told he would die within days anyway), but loved him so much you just cope with the mess and blame it on old age. My mother in laws cat was the same for the last 2 years and died aged 20 they used to have 2 litter trays and put down newspaper too in likely spots that he would wee. I don't know you can do anything more than you are. It is prob combination of dementia/old age +/- poor bladder/bowel control. Sorry post is so long but you are not alone xxx
  25. I know this is after the horse has bolted but this sounds amazing and if we lived closer would have committed to all dates - shame we live 4 hrs away, just a bit too far to travel. Xx
