  1. Thanks a lot for the tip, Don Q fan; I've just bought the tickets! I have never seen Svetlana Zakharova live, so am now looking forward to this performance, sounds fabulous to me! Besides, any excuse is fine to visit London in pre-Christmas time and hopefully will be able to combine this performance with another one in ROH/Sadler's Wells!
  2. I saw Myriam Ould-Braham and Mathias Heymann in "Paquita" when POB was visiting Copenhagen last year - what a fine performance it had been! I liked them a lot! Brilliant dancing and acting!
  3. I happened to be last Saturday at "The Nutcracker" of the Paul Hamlyn Christmas treat - lucky for me, I managed to get the spare ticket at the entrance. What a lovely performance it had been! It was the first time I saw sir Peter Wright's choreography and I liked it enormously. I saw it as having major reference to Christian traditions and values then the other "The Nutcracker" performances. Meaghan Grace Hinkis was a lovely Clara and Valentino Zucchetti - a perfect Hans-Peter/Nutcracker. I also liked a lot Marcelino Sambe as Drosselmeyer's assistant - great jumps! Everybody danced beautifully, especially Yuhui Choe as Rose fairy. The Sugar Plum fairy (Marianela Núñez), however, hadn't been at her top - or, what's more likely, was a bit unlucky: the Pdd was danced gloriously, but there was an unsteady moment at the beginning of the Sugar Plum fairy's appearance and then something happened with her petticoat - at least Vadim Muntagirov spent a couple of awkward moments doing something under her costume. He was, as expected, a brilliant partner! In the whole, one of the best performances of the year!
  4. I'm also going to see it in Southampton, coming from Denmark, and am quite excited about that!
  5. I was yesterday present at "Swan lake " performance and was charmed by Kizzy Matiakis interpretation of especially Odette. Great musicality with a lot of attention to the small detailes, lightness and precision - that was my impression from her dance! She and her partner, truly prince, Gregory Dean, showed a perfect partnership and understanding. When Kizzy's on the scene, one can be sure to watch a complete involvement in the role and creation a veritable image. Well done, Kizzy! Congratulations! Last year I witnessed the performance of Kizzy Matiakis and Jon Axel Fransson in the pdd from "Cacti" of Alexander Eckman at the summer concert of the Royal Danish ballet in Kolding (open air free of charge concert), here's my very amateur video to give an idea about her performance:
  6. Yes, thank you, of course! One week to wait then - next Sunday I'll watch the "Swan Lake" in Copenhagen!
  7. Sorry for misleading everybody - I've just checked my notes - and no, no 32 fouettes ever performed by Aurora, should be some other PDD I've been keeping in mind - my mistake!
  8. I happened to be at the yesterday "Sleeping beauty" matinee performance and though I can't but praise the virtuosity of Herman Cornejo's dancing, I'd certainly appreciate a bit more feelings involved in his acting; it was quite a restrained and serious prince at the wedding - at least that was my impression. Sara Lane seemed to be much happier and smiled more as well. We were a bit disappointed by the absence of fouettes - does anybody know why there was none of the famous 32 fouettes in yesterday performance? Did Ratmansky decide that they don't belong to the ballet or was it just a "special occasion"? I should confess I haven't seen many "SB" performances , but the last one I saw was in Berln, Nacho Duato's choreography and I do believe Iana Salenko (as Aurora) performed the fouettes there.
  9. Tonight was my first acquaintance with "The taming of the shrew", so I had nothing to compare it with, and I just liked everything enormously, both choreography, dancing, costumes and lights! Kristina Kretova is a superb, intelligent and indeed very beautiful dancer! True Katarina! She was a jewel of this performance, assisted of other great performers, Nina Kaptsova and Artem Ovcharenko were brilliant as well, I got the impression of a flawless performance, 2 hours just slipped away as one moment and I left with a strong wish to see this ballet again!
  10. Looking forward to Gala Nijinsky on the 17th of July in Hamburg - here is the programme: http://www.hamburgballett.de/e/_gala.htm
  11. Sorry, it was 15th of April, 2015. It'll be possible to watch the same production the next season in the Royal Danish theater, from September 2016.
  12. Hello everybody, here it's possible to watch "Swan lake'' from the Royal Danish Theater: https://www.dr.dk/tv/se/svanesoeen/svanesoeen-ballet-fra-det-kgl-teater It's the performance from the 15th of April, 2016.
  13. I happened to find this information while following the brilliant Danish dancer Ida Praetorius, a pity I'll be unable to com to watch it this time, but hope for the future: https://www.danceeast.co.uk/performances/wild-space/
  14. I'm also excited about the possibility to see Cathy Marston's ballet in Denmark! As well as generally satisfied about the next season's content in RDB. However there are still some interesting performances in the coming months in Denmark : "Don Quixote", for instance - and on the 7th of May Osiel Gouneo from the Norwegian ballet should dance Basil ! Also, "Come fly away" of Twyla Tharp or the free concerts of the RDB dancers all over Danmark in June and in July the concerts of so called Verdensballetten where the majority of dancers come from ROH: http://verdensballet.dk/en/about-verdensballetten/ .
  15. Thanks for the post and the link to your blog with a lot of interesting information! Unfortunately it's highly improbable that I will see the Hungarian ballet live myself (unless they come to Denmark or Hamburg), so it was especially nice to read about your experience and see the photos!
  16. I'd love to have a badge like this, it would give me a possibility to wear it both to Copenhagen and Hamburg ballet performances as well as at ROH when I visit it! I'll willingly spread information about the forum - unfortunately here in Denmark I haven't found anything similar!
  17. I'm also happy that I've found this forum for about a year ago. I live in western part of Denmark and sometimes it's cheaper for me to travel to London (thanks to Ryanair) than to Copenhagen or Hamburg. It's great to be able to get a hint of what is worth of seeing in ROH, etc. ( though I would say - everything!) Thanks a lot to all those who share their opinions and suggestions!
  18. Of course, sorry! I've been thinking about Denmark when writing it's one hour difference with Russia!
  19. I'm going to the first performance, on the 29th of June, flying from Denmark (the cheapest air tickets)!
  20. It's actually just 1 hour ahead of the U.K. now as there was no change to summer time in this part of Russia.

  22. Hello everybody; I'm also new here - a ballet fan from Denmark! Can't help adding some comments about Nijinsky Gala in Hamburg - to my mind, the most difficult part of ordering tickets is not to forget which dates should the order be placed. This year I tried the luck myself ( for Gala in July 2016) and of course I almost missed the right time to send my order, still managing to do it at the last moment. I got the tickets no problem, and my sister living in France also got her tickets, both of us being first time purchasers at Nijinsky Gala, so to my mind it's not that awfully difficult. One can be however a bit uncertain about sending all the details of credit card to Hamburg Opera house in a letter...
