  1. I think my teacher was manning on putting me in the next exam session in the spring which is when she is also hoping i would do the grade 6. Also realised I'd put 2 and a half years instead of 1 and a half
  2. You practically just repeated what my teacher said to me when I asked about it!! the only reason I really want to do it is because I've put so much work and time into learning the syllabus that it seemed a disappointment not to do the exam after all the work
  3. Thanks taxi, I hadn't thought about that! I'll have a word when I next see my teacher but I don't see why that should be a problem. I already have a copy of the DVD which I've been using to keep refreshing my mind on the work.
  4. I think this may have came up before however I can't seem to find any threads at the current moment in time. I recently moved back to my old dance school as I wasn't feeling very happy at the one I had moved to so after some considerable amount of thought I moved back. When I left old one (the one I am in now, let's name it school A) I had been studying for my grade 5 ballet. Once I left and moved to the new one (school B ) I was also studying grade 5 however at a much slower pace then in school A. By the time I left school B at the end of May, I had been studying the grade 5 for 2 and 1/2 years maybe slightly longer and there was no talk in my doing the exam any time soon (this wasn't the reason for leaving) the move back to school A meant that I had to move up to grade 6 as the class i was with previously had done their exam the previous March and had moved up and there is no grade 5 as this current moment in time. I was happy about moving up however slightly disappointed as it meant I wouldn't be able to do the exam. After a talk with mum, I decided to ask my teacher whether there was anyway I could do the exam, say by doing private lessons. The teacher said she would have a look at the timetable and see if she could fit any in. This evening in my class she told me that with the extra exam classes running up to the exam session in September, there was no room for privates however if I wanted to do the exam then she could maybe find me a school that would be willing to teach me the grade 5 at the same time as doing the grade 6 with her. However, I don't know if this is the best of ideas and whether ot is a wise decision to be at 2 schools at once especially when I've got the likes of GCSEs to be preparing for next year. Sorry that this was so long, not sure how to shorten it. Thanks x
  5. Just had a look at the specification which states the uniform and it says that candidates should wear a sleeveless leotard in navy blue, royal blue, black or purple. Good luck trying to deal with this one xx
  6. I've always used blochs and have continually had this problem. It usually means that they are on their way out but don't worry too much about because as long as they are giving you enough support they should be ok for the meanwhile x
  7. Hi, Only in year 10 but have just started looking at the written paper in class. My teacher has said that we only need to know the choreographer, lighting, costumes etc and not the actual dance as what you have to do for one of our practical pieces. Good luck to your DD!! ❤️
  8. Is there a link for this as I can't seem to find anything on google about it except for this thread?!
  9. Congratulations swan princess!! That's amazing!! Xx
  10. Good luck to your ds!! Hope everything goes to plan xx
  11. Good luck to all those waiting for results!! I'm going to admit that this thread has become a great source of amusement mainly by the comments from PV ???? x
  12. Thanks anaballerina, im assuming that it is as it looks the same as the other ones, just half the price ???? x
  13. Actually I've just seen on just ballet's website that they have them for just under £35 which is considerably cheaper!!!
  14. Ahh, thanks sballerina, I hadn't thought about that. Have you got the design? Thanks
  15. Thanks Jane, I'm going to talk to my mum about it as soon as there's a spare minute to see what she says about the situation.
  16. Hi, Was wondering if anyone has a navy practise skirt suitable for RAD grade 6 and above that's they aren't needing anymore? The one on the RAD website is £42 which is almost more then I would pay for a pair of pointe shoes!! Thanks
  17. Sorry to resurrect an old thread but I'm desperately in need of some advice. Today I started back at my dance school after not being there for just under a year however whilst I was there I realised that one of the girls in my class was looking a lot thinner then I remember her being. This girl wasn't exactly slim a year ago however now, almost a year gone she looks unhealthily thin. My worry is that she might have an eating disorder which may or may not have been dealt with however as I can't really speak to her about it I don't know what to do. As I haven't seen her in a year I really noticed the weight lose however for everyone else who has been dancing with her every week they may not have noticed. Sorry if this doesn't make sense I'm just really worried about this girl and in need of some advice about what to do next . Thanks x
  18. We've tried kickers but the soles always ended up wearing away after about 12 weeks
  19. Does anyone know of any school shoes that would be suitable for a 15 year old with a square front and aren't slip ons?
  20. Wow!!! Well done SP!!!! I'm sure that will be an amazing experience! ????
  21. If you have a look on the RAD find a teacher search there might be some on there
