  1. Viktoria Tereshkina? I have not seen her but she seems to have less negative reviews than some of the others, except Kondaurova.
  2. The dancer with the biggest exposure this past year in the UK must be Alessandra Ferri with the Boots adverts as well as the Woolf Works publicity, but how many people have actually taken in who she is?
  3. Sadlers Wells likes new productions so that is why Arcadia is there. Maybe BRB think La Baiser is a better fit with Arcadia and Penguin Cafe than one of the Macmillan pieces. Or maybe BRB feel that they don't need to celebrate Macmillan in London as there is a resident company there that can do that.
  4. Southampton and Bristol have only become regulars these last two years. Corder's Baiser was created in 2008. I wasn't keen on it myself, not sure if it was the music or the choreography. I quite liked the costumes but I can't remember the set at all.
  5. It is 'National' because professional dance critics from across the UK have voting rights. Although Krysanova featured heavily in the Bolshoi programme she will have only been seen by some of the critics and not in every role.
  6. Yes the Hull to Rotterdam crossing is by ferry, no matter how the company markets it.
  7. There are several posts on this thread from about post 24 on-wards that discuss this with the answer that in this production she dies of a weak heart.
  8. New Years Eve, BBC1. 3.15 pm: Darcey Bussell: Looking for Margot.
  9. It is being repeated New Years Eve afternoon on BBC1 at 3.15pm for those who want a more prime-time showing.
  10. Balletboyz The Making of Young Men on BBC2 Saturday 17th Dec at 11.50pm followed by Balletboyz: Young Men at 12.20am.
  11. The BRB press release about the Australian conductor that Janet posted has the following: "In the run up to opening night, The Nutcracker has recorded one of its biggest ever years for ticket sales and looks set to be the most commercially successful production in a generation."
  12. UK Government website is helpful on this. If you have been asked to provide it yourself then you need to go through Disclosure Scotland. Link to UK Government website : https://www.gov.uk/disclosure-barring-service-check/overview which then provides link to Disclosure Scotland.
  13. The Great Western service from Brighton is only a couple of times a day, not hourly.
  14. Schedule timings are GMT not BST so will be an hour out in UK at present.
  15. Yes there is a Diana & Actaeon entertainment within La Esmeralda at the betrothal celebration for Fleur de Lys and Phoebus.
  16. Osipova was not available for her rehearsals and performances in Moscow in the Spring, surely this is the main reason she is not on the tour to London.
  17. WH Smith & Waterstones websites both have 30th June as release date.
  18. My understanding is that the Shakespeare Lives project is mainly the BBC hosting other organisations material. So maybe as the BBC2 programme will be broadcast nationally anyway they are not promoting it on the Shakespeare Lives site.
  19. That is if you only attend BRB Birmingham main stage performances. The Lowry & Plymouth are getting The Dream in the Autumn and presumably the Ashton & Macmillan works in this years mid-scale tours will go to opposite venues next year.
  20. In the last 10 years there have mostly been either 2 or 3 mixed bills at Birmingham Hippodrome a season, but this is not the first time in that period that it has gone down to one. We must hope that it goes in cycles and future seasons will have more. However it should be remembered that although BRB gained grant money for extra touring around England they have lost grant money for performing in Birmingham.
  21. The announcement from the BRB website: https://www.brb.org.uk/post/2016-17-season-announced
  22. There is already a thread for books you might find interesting: http://www.balletcoforum.com/index.php?/topic/9569-ballet-novels-and-biographies/
  23. Echoing 2dancersmum Salisbury is probably the nearest best place to stay if you are using public transport. Lots of accommodation choices, although might not be much choice if you coincide with the Salisbury Festival which starts end of May Bank Holiday weekend for a couple of weeks. I actually went for the Cathedral and Stonehenge was a bonus. I stayed in the Mercure Hotel which was very nice and room itself was fine but was located just above the traffic lights so quite noisy.
  24. I went to Stonehenge about 5 years ago. This was before the current visitor centre. I stayed in Salisbury and took the tour bus around Salisbury and then up to Stonehenge: http://www.thestonehengetour.info/ Its a hop-on/hop-off bus so if you start early enough you can spend most of the day at Stonehenge should you wish.
