I think that the written reports can be accessed by all [ https://www.tlbc.org.uk/pages/28-reports ] but the recordings are available to LBC Members only.

I should add that Scottish Ballet's Constance Devernay-Laurence, while not a well-known ballet 'name', was both delightful and interesting as an interviewee. Through the use of ZOOM, the LBC is bringing attendees not only dancers but creatives which we wouldn't otherwise 'get to know'.

A reminder that RB principal Laura Morera will be talking to The London Ballet Circle this Thursday at 7.30pm - in person at The Royal Ballet School or via Zoom.

Non-members are able to book here …

https://www.tlbc.org.uk/events/in-conversation-with-Laura-Morera-in-person-and-zoom

Laura debuts as Cinderella herself on Saturday this week, and has been coaching Fairy Godmothers and the season fairies as well.

It will  be very interesting to hear more about Cinderella and also her plans for coaching MacMillan, Ashton and other repertoire (Scarlett?) that she specialises in!

This felt like we were eavesdropping on a catch-up between these two colleagues!   Brandon did a great job of leading the conversation on.

So interesting to hear from Laura about the steps in her career from being told she was too short and would have difficulties getting a job (NOT), to being cast in Arthur Pita’s Metamorphosis alongside Ed Watson whilst still in the school, and to her relatively early decision to switch from being a dancer to becoming a repetiteur.

Wonderful insight 🙏

Hello Sabine, the video reports seem to be filed under the "Members" section but Laura's talk doesn't seem to have been uploaded yet.  Loads of other zoom recording links are there though1

Sabine, I have sent you a PM which I hope will help.

All the people who run the LBC are volunteers and sometimes there is a little delay before it's possible for them to reply.

Already booked the Lauretta Summerscales interview in London in December this morning!!
I always thought she was a huge loss to ENB at the time she left but has been doing fantastically well in Germany ever since then.
I hope I can catch a couple of her guest performances with ENB this season anyway.

LBC in conversation with AARON S WATKIN

It will be interesting to hear his plans for the company, now that the first run (Triple bill at Sadlers) under his leadership is complete.

I think that BCF users might also be interested to know that the LBC is offering members only the opportunity to watch classes/coaching by, among others, Darcey Bussell, Fumi Kaneko and Yasmine Naghdi on upcoming Sundays in the Royal Ballet Studios. A treat on several counts!

Go to https://www.tlbc.org.uk to look at upcoming events (where there are other attractive opportunities on offer) and join the LBC on line to take full advantage of them.

And well done LBC in getting an interview with Aaron S Watkin so soon.

Of course The DANCE FORWARD Sunday ballet courses are timed for the benefit of the students attending!  Many of whom will have to travel some distance after the course to return to their vocational schools.

It’s worth mentioning here that LBC members attending these courses will need to arrive on time and stay for the full programme from 9.15am to 1.30pm.  This is due to ROH requirements for visitors to be accompanied at all times.

I realise this event isn’t especially organised around LBC members of course!!
I was just expressing my chagrin that getting to ROH by 9.15 on a Sunday morning from four miles outside of Brighton is pretty much impossible as the first bus here isn’t until 8.30 on Sundays!
But it should be extremely interesting

and enjoyable for those LBC members who can make it.

The Zoom talk with Aaron Watkin last night provided a great introduction to the man and his approach to leading ENB. The future looks bright. Thank you LBC.

By the way, each one of the LBC's Zoom events is interesting in its own way, not least in terms of introducing artists one would not otherwise know anything about. And they are FREE to LBC Members on top of all the other opportunities membership provides. All for only £20 a year (£5 for those aged between 18 and 25).
