Loislane
Hi Just wondered if there are any other parents on here that are about to start their child's new JA journey in Covent Garden in September? Would be lovely to know in advance!

Loislane
Congrats!!! So glad I have not got a 09.30 start! How far away are you?
Sugarpumpkin
Thankyou and congrats to your daughter too ! We are travelling from Cambridgeshire so not too bad though not looking forward to early train what about you ?
Loislane
We are coming in from Ramsgate so no fast train until Ashford, glad our train is not as early as yours! Do you know how many places are available each year group compared to how many audition? Really hard finding this out?
Aklf
Congrats to the new JAs they will have a brilliant time! Regarding the numbers who audition, you can use last years annual report as a guide. In 2014, 294 girls auditioned for London JAs and 28 were offered a place. 45 boys auditioned and 15 were given a place. A great achievement! Tinkerbell05
Hello! We are newbies starting the 12:15 class on a Saturday in London x Edited August 30, 2015 by Tinkerbell05
Loislane
Hello tinkerbell!! We will see you there then! We have received the new leotard, I had to buy a size 1, no zeros available and it just looks so dreadful as way too big for her. Has anyone got this problem? Tinkerbell05
My daughters is fine. A little big but ok, it's a 1, if it had been a zero I would have offered to swap!! X
Picturesinthefirelight
Do JA leotards come from IDS? If so I would call them direct rather than go on the website & explain & request a size 0. They manufacture First Position themselves so shouldn't be a problem (Mum of a non dancing Ds who is used to having to fight for sports kit/school uniform to be made to fit him)
Loislane
Hi yes they do come from IDS, our local teacher said she will call them so thank you for this help and advice
sarahw
Loislane - I'm afraid the JA leotards are not flattering - they are not very stretchy and often baggy on the slim girls in question. (They're the same as the BBO G1-3 leotards. ) My dd always needed one that was way too baggy to get the necessary length ;(and these are girls with short bodies) - don't worry too much as I'm sure others will be in the same situation. ..... Loislane
Hi, I phoned IDS as suggested and they do have size zero's with the printed backs in stock!!! The lady was unaware that size 1 was smallest size offered on-line so she will swop it for me ???? on the other hand, the track suit sized 9-11 looks enormous so that needs to be swopped too!
Loislane
Did anyone else read the kids need a stretch/yoga mat for the lessons? Is anyone taking one?
Picturesinthefirelight
Sports Direct do them cheaply.

Loislane
That's why I raised it!! It is buried in the London handbook I think, take a look and see what you think ????
Tinkerbell05
Yes, we are taking one. My daughter has to have one for her regular ballet class anyway so we already have one. You can get them online quite easily though! x
Haggis
We definitely used ours in Eastleigh and London.
MumToTu
My dd was told to bring a large white towel last year and they all use these instead in her JA class. Good luck on her first day x
