  1. I hope you enjoy open day. It is a very special place and my children were all very happy there.
  2. We were with Cigna while DD at ENBS and that was fine if that helps
  3. That would be fine tho a plain coloured one equally fine. Whatever she thinks she will look her best in! Good luck
  4. My understanding is that the matter was being investigated. I hope so.
  5. It is indeed! One of the students weighed less than 7 stone and was a UK size 4 at the time if that gives some context.
  6. I agree with everything said above...if only schools and directors were as sensitive. At one well known upper school the director pulled 6 students out of class and berated them publically...in the corridor for all to hear...that they were too fat and had to lose weight or no company director would look at them!!!!
  7. As I have been reading the posts about people embarking on the audition road this year I thought I would relive some of last year by re reading the threads. Seems so long ago. My DS has settled at his new school and is enjoying the adventure. He has made friends with classmate who come from the UK,eire, america,Australia,Canada,Spain,Norway and France. What an experience. He will make friends around the world for life, whatever the future holds. It was scary going through it last year but we'll worth it. Good luck to everyone worrying about it all for this hear.
  8. Has snyony tried the 7 layer stiff net one from China at about £40. Looks very like the Gridhko one needed at Tring that is so expensive.
  9. My DD did JAs and CBA. She preferred the latter although she got a lot from both
  10. This has happened before and central organised an alternative I think.
  11. It takes place in the morning at different times and some candidates are required for a recall in the afternoon.
  12. We have done it a good number of times and children were always allowed to audition for RBS. They told the Ballet mistress in advance so their rehearsal slot could be fitted around it. The audition only lasts 90 mins Max so could go got later rehearsal or do earlier rehearsal then audition. One of last year's company got into WL so clearl allowed to audition.
  13. They seem to be moving to giving results by e mail.
  14. Just seen the photos...he is tiny!!
  15. I think she will dance best in what she feels best in.
  16. I took my son's photos...multiples of each position. He choose the one he liked best. They weren't amazing but good enough:) My dd auditioned successfully for a top ballet school. She wore a red camisole leotard that she felt suited her. She was told at her previous school to keep it simple and classical, without fussy backs and straps. At RBS finals this year there was a plethora of different coloured leotards on display. She should wear one she feels she looks good in and feels she dances well in. All through auditions we have gone for colour to draw the eye. To be honest, it's the dancing that matters. Good luck to dd.
  17. My DS is enjoying his new school and sounds to be getting to grips with cooking and laundry! He loves the freedom of life in London.
  18. Scary that this has come around so soon.!!
  19. Hope your dd enjoys the class .

    Advice

Hi Lilac, My comments were based on someone auditioning for UpperSchools. (Assumed it was for daughter who did JAs with my dcs...) The age is significant and my comments not valid for a younger dc.
  21. We definitely used ours in Eastleigh and London.
