Hello. We would like to remind forum members about the correct use of the 'Report' button. Please note that the reporting system is to be used to report any posts that breach the forum AUP: personal insults, excessive rudeness, advertising or being highly critical under cover of a pseudonym, baseless speculation, overtly political posts, breach of copyright, or information that is not in the public domain. It is NOT to be used just because you disagree with someone, or their opinion differs from yours. Everyone has a right to their own opinion, and as long as it is expressed politely there is no reason to report it. Each time the Mods receive a report, we have to look at it, discuss it, revert to the member who has reported, and contact the member who has been reported. This obviously takes up our time. We are happy to do this for a valid report (we discuss and then decide whether to uphold the report or not), but going forward we will be deleting frivolous posts without taking the usual action. So the message is: please think before you report someone. Thank you.

Hello everyone. We have been approached with regard to the upcoming Panorama programme, and whether it can be discussed here. The answer is yes it can, but we respectfully ask members to refrain from commenting/speculating until the programme has been aired. The moderators will then monitor comments to ensure that there is nothing potentially libellous being written. Anything that has been said or pointed out on Panorama can be discussed as it would already be in the public domain. But we would like to reiterate that our AUP still applies, so please....no second-hand news ('someone told me that .... ') nor any information about someone or an institution that is not out there or quoted in the public domain, nor highly critical postings under pseudonyms. This will no doubt be an interesting and emotive programme, but please remember that anything said here is available for public consumption. Thanks for your co-operation.

Perm Ballet streamings
BalletcoForum Moderators replied to Amelia's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
Hi all. We have decided to lock this thread for the time being as it is becoming overtly political. May we please remind everyone that we strongly discourage our members from making political statements on this, a ballet forum. Of course we understand that there are some issues that make us all angry and upset, but we would ask that these are discussed on other fora. There is so much unhappiness and negativity in the world; let's try to keep this forum a happy place where we discuss our beloved artforms, all of which contribute some happiness and positivity to our world. Thank you for your co-operation. -
Royal Ballet School graduates news
BalletcoForum Moderators replied to Jan McNulty's topic in Doing Dance
After various reports about this thread we have decided to rest it for a few days until we can get it back on course to discussing the graduates, not those who are still at the school, and the merits (or otherwise) of the RBS and other schools. And before anyone accuses us of clamping down, suppressing discussion, etc....the thread is being suspended because we are listening to our members. We didn't just decide to do it. AUP has not been breached by anyone, but the thread has veered off course and is becoming very negative. Thank you for your understanding. -

A post on this thread has been hidden because it contains a link to a YouTube video that has not been posted by the rights holder. -
That thread has now been unlocked, Fonty, so if anyone is fortunate enough to be seeing Ms Morera perform in Japan (or if anyone simply wishes to add memories of, or appreciation for her) they can add to the thread. We have hidden all of the off-topic posts, and would ask that the thread remains on-topic so it can stay unlocked. Many thanks, Balletcoforum Moderators

A post on this thread has been hidden due to over-quoting. May we remind members of the relevant section of the Acceptable Use Policy: “Quoting from newspapers and other websites The copyright situation of material on the internet is complicated, made more so by different national laws. As far as BalletcoForum is concerned we allow brief quotes of a sentence or two from other sites or material, with the source acknowledged, and backed up if relevant by a link. Anything more than this will be removed.”

Some posts on this thread have been hidden as they are hearsay rather than personal experience. Posts that are responses to those posts have also been hidden. The Moderation Team would remind you of the section of the Acceptable Use Policy relating specifically to discussion of schools states "Discussion of schools and courses This may lead to the expression of strong opinions, both positive and negative when experiences and views have understandably differed. Against that background, the general Acceptable Use Policy Conditions continue to apply but, as regards schools and courses, additional parameters are added. • Posts about schools or courses must report personal experiences only (posted by the student, the student’s parent/guardian or the student’s teacher with permission). • They must not include second-hand information or innuendo e.g. claiming to speak on someone else’s behalf, for “many people”, for “the majority of students” and so forth. • Nothing should be included that could be construed as defamatory in any way and which could therefore lead to legal ramifications for the Forum and members."
