In order to commemorate this milestone we thought it would be fun to celebrate in a way that we could share with our loyal members. So… We are delighted to announce a prize draw. Once we have the 10 winners, the prizes will then be allocated to each person randomly, again by a number generator. Yes, the Mods routinely mention on a thread when a post is hidden for a potential breach of AUP so that members (including the relevant poster) know what is happening. In our experience, this is a courtesy that is not extended by all Internet forums. As has been mentioned a number of times before, the Mods will usually notify the relevant poster of the issue at hand once delibreration has ended and a decision made (again, a courtesy not extended by all other forums). The deliberation can sometimes take longer than may be perfect but we ask for patience as all moderators are volunteers, some of them have full time jobs and all of them have a life outside of this forum.

In general, we only remove posts if they breach AUP.

This thread is being locked while it is under consideration by Moderators.

Posts are hidden temporarily if they are reported or if a moderator considers there is a potential breach of AUP. The post is then discussed by the moderators collectively (this can take some time depending on availability, bearing in mind that the moderators are volunteers and a number of them work full time). Once a conclusion is reached, the post is either reinstated or remains hidden. The moderators will usually advise on the thread when a post has been hidden but, on rare occasions, this does not happen promptly due to logistical reasons.

Posters sign up to the AUP when they join. The hidden post was determined to have breached AUP (and it was more than one sentence that was seen to be of concern). We also note that the post was reported by another member as inappropriate.
