  1. Well that is a bit naughty if it's one of the ones we have just paid to see live streamed! However at least it will watch more easily on TV than having to cast it to a TV etc!
  2. So glad Marion will stay on as repetiteur and coach. I have always enjoyed her performances although I have only seen her later performances.
  3. I have a copy of this book but it is a bit of a peculiar copy:- Firstly it has a whole section at the back of repeated pages and index (?!) and then I am missing pages 193-226 I think of book 2. Can anyone help - I need to know are there 2 books in the book to start with as it has Book 1 in the front but it says nothing where the next one starts - i.e. I am assuming it is a book made up of 2 books? If anyone has the book and would be able to photograph the missing pages (not the photos) I would be immensely grateful as I do not really want to buy another copy just for a few pages. My odd copy was a 2nd hand bargain £3 and turned out to be signed by Dame Margot herself so that more than makes up for the duplicate and missing pagination!! Thank you in advance!
  4. Exactly! Glad it's not just me - I have put a comment on their latest snippet of Swan Lake PDD. At least it lets them see it is noticed. So far we have seen 3 minutes + of Dying Swan, 8 minutes+ of the Swan Lake PDD, and 4+minutes of the WTGH pdd. Ok it's not that much but it they should at least wait until the 30 day watch period is over. I can see Alison's point about marketing as well though...
  5. Have to say I'm getting rather cross with ROH in that they keep showing excerpts from the PAID for show on their YouTube channel, yet can't show it there in the first place. As people paid to see it, they should stop showing clips for free, it's not right especially not within the 30 day watch period. It'll make me think twice about purchasing anymore from them in future if I can wait a few days and see most of it on YouTube for free.
  6. I agree it was a beautiful piece and truly amazing the reaction it got from the lady. I loved seeing it.
  7. Have to say I was spitting feathers when I heard about this, talk about sweeping generalisations! I'm a notherner born and bred yet cannot bear football, rugby or cricket! That MP is just a philistine! As for snobbery I have never met any at the ballet, but I have made some really lovely friends through ballet and this forum.
  8. I really enjoyed the show and cannot really pick a stand out, but Rhapsody, Tchai PDD and Concerto were all really lovely. Unfortunately I thought Osipova over did the Dying Swan so much that she ruined it for me, I wish Marianela had done it. I too would have liked to see Magri and Ball in a pdd that lovely MacMillan from the gala would have been great to see again. Was it only me who thought the lighting was very dark? They really need to brighten the stage for these streams. Nearly every piece had a black or blue backdrop.
  9. Really sad to that Alina is leaving ENB she's such a great dancer but obviously family comes first for her now. The doors' aren't completely closed as ENB hope to welcome her back a s aguest so fingers x'd we still see her. Have to say despite having seen Vienna State Ballet a few times I have never heard of Mair?! I agree that Khaniukova would have made a good Principal.....
  10. And it seems to be £10 which is much better I thought £16 last time was a bit dear for a stream especially when it didn't work very well and you're on a budget!)
  11. Thanks for the reports it sounds like it was a very special evening indeed! Jealous!
  12. Have to agree with Jeannette there was just too much "class" for me. I much prefer interviews and seeing actual pieces of rep danced. However in fairness they were probably limited this year as to what they could do. I will go back and watch some of the Bolshoi interviews - Anna Turashvilli really is a great English speaker and is always lovely at stage door so it was great to see her. I will also look for the DonQ from HK and Japan.
  13. Thank you for this Alison - but what awful times! Really annoys me as Sky Arts repeat allsorts of "Discovering actor xyz" over lunch yet show ballet at silly o'clock in the mornings!!! Anyway Dutch National Ballet's Mata Hari is great and if it is the same video as the company streamed earlier this year it is beautifully filmed in fact it is possibly one the best filmed ballets I have ever seen. Anna Tsygankova was right when she said it was beautifully filmed in a promo video for the stream.
  14. I think it is Alison. However they only streamed 4 of the pieces from the show. Thank you Terpsichore for the review which I enjoyed reading. Het National Theater is probably my most favourite venue in the world as it so comfortable and not to be able to go there at the moment is a real shame. I really miss Amsterdam performances and to think Onegin will be on there next year!!!
  15. Yes I agree Jeanette! Glad you enjoyed it. I missed Waves as I had to go and eat my dinner :-(( I am hoping they will put the video up again as I have seen that the previous years' concerts are all on YouTube.
  16. Well the ballet was lovely, although it is already no longer available on YouTube or the UN website I really hope they put it back up minus all the speeches that took up the first 30 minutes! Nice to see some of the top dancers from La Scala and I thought i was nice the way they alternated between classical and modern. Something for everyone. I have a note of the dancers/works which someone kindly posted up on the YT chat thread which I can type up here if anyone thinks it's worth doing.
  17. Roberto Bolle has tweeted he is taking part in the UN concert for its 75th anniversary tomorrow (Thursday 22/10/2020, UK BST 5pm, EDT 12noon). There will be ballet from La Scala Milan, some classics and modern as well as music. The concert will be streamed on the UN YouTube channel as well as other platforms.
