  5. i always thought that the people at the back of the amphi would never get out in time in the event of a fire - stuck behind slow staircase hoggers - getting out can take an age as there is only one stairs which is already full of people from down below
  6. yes but scotland has Scottish ballet in wales there is nowt on the scale of any of these and where do NB go to and how often???
  7. oh whoopie do - once in a blue moon - when was the last time?? wait until march 2018 - not exactly overenthusiastic especially considering that there are at least 3 nutcracker in london in december _RB at ROH - BRB at RAH and ENB at Coli - could not ONE of these National Companies spend some time in Cardiff ,Newport or Swansea for a few days??? Political i say - we pay taxes to the UK too
  8. well made my way to newport riverfront for the first time tonight to see ballet cymru's new tim podesta piece with mara galeazzi in it. i had checked online and plenty of tickets left so i rolled up in a rush after parking issues to be told it was the wrong night - dress rehearsal today and performances tomorrow and saturday - dozy me!! anyway the lovely box office lady said - oh you can go in and watch the rehearsal now if you like so i did!! thanks ballet cymru for your generosity in allowing some of us in to your final rehearsal - it was most interesting. mara galeazzi was amazing - she always was - some excellent dancers in the welsh troupe as well.....the music was not to my taste really but there was much to commend this performance and watching Mara close up is worth the ticket money anyway. choreo was rather Mr McGregor style in many ways so also not really to my taste...cant beat the good old Royal Ballet, ENB or BRB in my book - shame none of them bother to come to Wales anyone wanting a good look at mara galeazzi and some modern dancing in an intimate venue with excellent facilities then do go tomorrow and saturday - there are still tickets available and newport is quick to get to

  12. at least £18 in newport wales - twice as much as i would normally pat for a proper view at roh - total rip off and not many viewers there 2/3 empty when i saw sleeping beauty RIP OFF IMO
  13. i was online before 9 then in through the queuer at 9:02 - go to alice are there any stalls circle standing there - not one - in fact stalls circle pretty sold out for my chosen date - not the first night! so apart from being disappointed - mt thoughts are that indeed after all the friends etc groups have had their pick there is indeed nothing but crumbs at the back of amphi in the pens of balcony etc for us low income folks that need cheap seats as we happen to like a bit of b allet i understand the popularity of stalls circle standing at a very good price b ut would expect there to be a few left at the first date i pick at 9:03 - guessing that so many different priority groups now means nothing left for the rabble - not fair - later someone told me they had released tickets at a later time now that really annoys me....i was there at the appointed inconvenient time and got nowt then later the tickets i wanted are randomly offered - what is the point!! very fed up with the whole system and they had failed to send me the autumn booking brochure this time as well - fail ROH - NOT WORLD CLASS ! sorry!!
  14. hi dave - if nobody else is interested then i'd be more than happy to enjoy this ticket thanks jules

  16. Loved Coppelia yesterday Lachlan was amazing as was his swanhilda. I payed £4 plus £1.90 in addition to my £14.50 cheap upper circle ticket - ouch nearly 45% on top of advertised ticket price! Daylight robbery!! However hey did indeed not open upper circle so i had a lovely upgrade to 2nd row grand circle Thank you. It does make my blood boil that they put people off by these high charges so half empty theatre - better charge 50% less to get 50% bigger house
