  1. Another Elmie here too! My DD loves boarding, there is so much to do. As already mentioned on Saturdays the children go to the park and visit Aldi and also have in house activities like a movie night, beauty night, pizza making, disco, bingo etc and there is a full set of trips etc for Sunday’s which this term included Cinema trips, swimming, crazy golf etc. They have also been to the theatre twice this term to watch a ballet and a show, these were trips in the week. My DD does much more at school now than she ever did at home, as she always had so much on with dancing. She gets to have a very balanced childhood now and gets to spend time with friends, relax and have fun x.
  2. Lucky for us my DD was offered a place off the wait list from Elmhurst within a day or two so we didn’t have to wait really. I wouldn’t give up hope if anyone gets a Wait list place there really is so much movement in the first few days.
  3. Elmhurst has a wait list my DD got a place last year from the list and yes most people will unfortunately still attend Tring and Elmhurst auditions despite maybe already knowing they have a place at WL. Last year was slightly different as Tring and Hammond funding and Elmhurst finals were scheduled before WL final.
  4. Good Luck to all the girls auditioning at WL today and tomorrow
  5. Last year SI results came out during WL girls finals. I remember as we were in the hotel in Richmond when we received my DD SI result.
  6. Elmhurst Extended YoungDancers is a separate application. Auditions are usually in the summer term.
  7. I think that’s correct if dada’s are worked out the same as MDS. For my DD MDs this year sept 21 we were asked to provide financial earning for 20/21. So this years entry would be 21/22, it’s deferent to student finance my eldest has just started uni they asked for 2019/20 earnings for September 21 entry.
  8. I am sure that’s what I was told last year. Like I said I can’t say for definite as my DD auditioned last year and finals were completely different. If you book with premier inn I am sure there is an option whereby you can cancel the second night before a certain time and get a full refund. I can’t remember if it’s the semi flex or the flex option. But I have managed to get a full refund on the second night before. Good luck 🤞 with the auditions it definitely worth it my DD is very happy 😊
  9. Sorry can’t say if this is 100% correct as my DD applied last year when things were different. But this is how I thought it worked all girls through to finals go to the girls audition and same with the boys and then they invite children back for the call back and physio Assessment. From what I thought those called back to the call back are the ones they were interested in and that they would like to see them again plus undertake the physio checks. I don’t think it means you are definitely going to get a place but through to the final stage. I think RBS did something similar in previous years with some children being sent home on the afternoon of the second day and some children being asked to stay on so the panel could look at the child again. But that didn’t mean you were not successful at RBS if you were sent home early on the second day as some children sent home were given places I guess they had seen enough to make a decision. You could always check with the registrar at Elmhurst she’s very helpful.
  10. My eldest is in her first year at university she made a similar decision to your DD last year, I think Covid and how this effected the industry was the last straw. I also felt disappointed as she dreamed of going to dance school and being on the West End and had dedicated so many years to achieving this dream. She is so happy at university she’s joined two dance societies and competes against other universities it’s a great balance. I think personally now I have had time to reflect she’s made the right choice for her. Best of luck to your daughter I hope she enjoys university as much as my Daughter.
  11. My DD has also started Elmhurst in September in year 7 and she is loving it too. The two house parents in the year 7 boarding house are so kind and approachable I was quite worried about my DD as she can be shy around adults but having her home for the last two weeks I have seen a massive improvement in her confidence. She would hide on zoom and now she’s asking questions and sitting in front of the camera. She said it’s because she feels like the other girls are like her family, which is so lovely to hear. I agree with what Raquelle has mentioned the children in year 7 seem to have adapted well and I feel they have been supported really well by the school. They also seem to have lots of non dancing activities arranged for the boarders at the weekend which are reasonably priced and fun. The children can also go home at the weekend if they wish which is nice. So far I have been very impressed and happy with the decision to send her away at 11.
  12. I have tried to add a picture and have no idea how to upload the file it is to big. The trousers are tight now like leggings and the sizing is very small compared to the old tracksuits. My daughter was 134cm when we brought them last sept and is petite. If you go on the dancing boutique website you could have a look at what they look like. Sorry I have really tried to send a pic.
  13. I have the new tracksuit top and bottoms and the leotard £25 for all plus postage. Size 9-10 would like to sell all together.
  14. I have the new tracksuit (jacket and trousers) 9-10 and a leotard 9-10 £25 plus postage. Would like to sell all together though.
  15. Thank you so much I will get cracking on this today. I really appreciate your help and I am sure others will too. Thanks again x
  16. Yes it’s the first time I have filled one in. Thank you for your suggestion, some one said something about unearned income of children, is that correct do I just get copies of statement of interest on savings for my children. Also do you need copies of child benefit awards etc it would be great to know what we need so I can start to request information which may take some time. I am guessing the information they require is similar to the MDS for CATs I have found guidance notes on line for the completion of these forms so perhaps I should collate the information asked for on these forms.
  17. I was just wondering whether any vocational schools have issued the MDS MD1 form yet for this year? We were told we would be sent them in May or June and have not been sent any forms yet. Are the forms usually sent out this late ?
  18. This is so true my DD had nos and a SWL for year 6 but was invited to WL and Elmhurst finals and is now starting Elmhurst in September so it’s true never give up. I think they nos and the SWL gave her more determination to get a place at vocational school. Well done to all the yes and SWL and it really is is a not yet for the nos, just keep believing.
  19. My DD auditioned on the Saturday last year and we had her result on the Thursday so definitely within a week last year.
  20. My DD has loved Elmhurst young dancers and I would have been willing to drive 3 hours each way every Saturday for her to continue if she wasn’t going to the school in September. Good luck to your DD. Elmhurst are usually very quick and getting results out.
  21. Definitely socks at that age you can see their lines better. They where socks for young dancer lessons anyway. The school is really easy to find and yes it’s on Bristol Road. Good luck to you DD it really is a lovely scheme my DD has really enjoyed her time with EYD.
  22. I would worry I am sure you will here this week when your audition times are. We didn’t have lots of notice last year. I think the closing date was yesterday so I am sure you will hear soon.
