Hi @Spamcat, my niece did it last year and with a performance in May half term. The schedule was something like, audition Feb,  then rehearsal on a Saturday afternoon (her age group) for a bit, then some intensive days a bit nearer time. if there is a holiday then they put a lot in the holiday. 

they usually give you the schedule when you apply (I think) I could be wrong! DD hoping to do next year but we will have same prob as you I’m guessing! x

@Spamcat just came and logged on to see if you had heard anything! Oh so sorry to hear your no, but me and DD are  (selfishly) happy to hear you will be at elmhurst! can’t wait 🙃 they can both re apply together next year 😂 

Hi @TinyNEDancer I think @Spamcat has already answered quite a lot above but there was 3 groups auditioning for year 4 (we were group 3). I’m not sure how many in our class yet but my husband took her to the taster and said about 15 possibly more. Both DD and I had a much nicer time at elmhurst auditions, we were both more relaxed which helped, it was very welcoming and I met some nice mums @Spamcat being one of them! I think I have mentioned previously that DD isn’t the most flexible or the best technically but she does have a lot of enthusiasm 😅 so I think the best thing she can do is to enjoy it as much as possible 🙂 (easier said than done)! xxx

Thank you @Confuddled  did they do Wimbledon in 2018? Sounds like they do them every two years, so fingers crossed for you! x

Hi @TinyNEDancer! Wow yes what a week. DD had a cry over JA results and got over it pretty much immediately, but I’m going to be honest, it took me a few days to get out of the cycle of refreshing and thinking about it? such an odd experience, and feel somuch better for it being over with an answer? I honestly didn’t think I’d be like that but there you go! So odd! Then at elmhurst today which was amazing but it’s going to be such a big change for us it really is a rollercoaster. Anyway! Hope you are all good and hanging in there! Back to EYB - my niece did it last year and they are due back near us next year, and DD had already said she wants to  try and do it, but feel like there is a good chance it’s going to clash with a couple of family events (sisters wedding abroad ). So want to be able to veto it in advance if we need to..

Thats a good idea to email, I didn’t know if I could..I’ll give that a go!

Sorry to hear that @Creakingstool, after our no yesterday DD seemed ok - then I found her crying in her room! which wasn’t great, but today it’s like it hasn’t happened and we are all back to normal, everything forgot about and without the cloud of not knowing hanging over head! they are very resilient these little DC’s! 🙂

Thanks so much @TinyNEDancer it’s been quite stressful all this waiting, feel relieved we can crack on! it does feel a bit sad, but we feel very fortunate anyway! I have had a lovely time on this forum to be honest! 😅

We just had our result for y4 Birmingham (day 2) - it’s a no for us! But actually we all feel fine, DD not bothered in the least and it makes me feel a bit relieved that we don’t have to decide as we accepted elmhurst 🙃. Just feel happy we have an answer! good luck to everyone else!! xx
