  1. So pleased your daughter enjoyed it princessballerina. The monthly sessions are wonderful and all the girls that attend are so lovely. We sadly couldn't attend today as we are away but always go normally. Nicky tries to get the girls involved in as many performance opportunities for the girls as she can too (which are optional, but she always produces a piece of a very high standard) and I couldn't recommend SYB highly enough. She often puts on sessions for privates too which are extremely beneficial as the girls respect her so much xx
  2. No haven't heard anything either but one of the mums rang to check and apparently we will have an email closer to the time advising what we need to take xx
  3. Yes my dd will be there, and a friend from her JA class too xx
  4. The very best of luck to all the dc and their parents just starting this adventure ????
  5. Wow congratulations snowflake!!! And congratulations to your dd. So pleased for you both ????
  6. Congratulations dancemomma and to your dd!!! Exciting times ahead xx
  7. My dd auditioned for year 5 last year and said it was quite simple exercises, nothing she hadn't done before in a ballet class. Keeping in time with the music and showing a love of dance seem to be important. Also she said there was quite a long stretching session and she said she was one of the least flexible in there and there were several things she couldn't do as well as others but she just smiled and tried her best (I would agree with her assessment of this having seen some of the extreme warming up going on in the waiting room!) but she was so fortunate and got a place, and I don't think the ultra flexible girls we'd seen beforehand did, so they must just be looking for potential flexibility .. But who knows!! I hope he enjoys his day. My dd went in with no expectations and absolutely loved the class as the teachers are extremely welcoming xx
  8. I recently had the information through and its £150 per annum for juniors, which can be paid in 3 installments if preferred xx. This was for the northern classes, I don't know if they're all the same xx
  9. Oh good thank you life. It got me a little worried! X
  10. Hi has anyone else received the email regarding payment needed for summer school by cob tomorrow? We paid a while ago for wl summer school by online transfer so hard to check if they have allocated the money to my dd records. Just wondering whether everyone has had the email or just those they believe haven't paid? Thanks in advance ????
  11. Hope it was c and d simultaneously!
  12. I was told, to my face (when my dd got rbs JA scheme and dance mum dd did not) "I didn't expect her to get a place anyway as rbs only take children with no technique, and my dd has amazing technique"!!
  13. I would say that as a matter of respect you should discuss this with your dd's current dance teacher. You may find that they would offer additional classes (ie studying the grade above etc) for keen dancers. From experience I would say that dancing at 2 different schools, especially for the same discipline, would be frowned upon. Different methods of teaching etc and as a matter of pride on behalf of teacher no doubt. Could you look more at associate schemes/ youth ballet groups to supplement her ballet classes? Edited for typo
  14. Congratulations dizzyballetmum!!!! So pleased for you both, I bet you're both absolutely over the moon!!! ????

  19. That's brilliant boyohboy, thanks so much for the info!! That's great there's a good sized group as there's plenty of children to make friends with. Seems that year 5s and 6s may be in the same group too then which will be good for the younger ones development. Hope your boy has a great week, they must have liked him to have gotten the chance to go again!
  20. Good luck to your daughter dancefanatic, and to all the other children auditioning this week xxx
