  1. Oh bluddy hell! ,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, don't be cheeky to mod they will have their revenge grammatically.
  2. Let's take a moment to mourn Alison... Then back on topic! Nobody (me included) ever posts if it's a placing that's been shared with others though! Me on FB for example... "DD placed......x!!! #soblessed" etc etc.. What all by herself PV...? Not with...about eight other children? Some of who could have been five for all you could tell? "Hummmmmm ffftttpppwwhh..mumble..." What was that PV? "Um..Would anyone care for a glass of squash?"
  3. No it's the Hi Juice zero sugar variety - it still bears the 'tang' of chemical substitution. *have I managed to draw an actual mod down into the rabbit hole that is off-topic PV blathering? This is an achievement sweeter than any full fat sugar added grapefruit elixir. Fist pump.
  4. What irritates me is when you see excellent adjudication brushed off, excused, justified, ignored and waived away as a matter of individual taste. You have to be able to take criticism, to be open to the idea that there are different ways of doing things and that you can always learn something no matter how long you've been in the game. I don't expect DD to make excuses, she's had some great feedback and some lessons to learn this week that she wouldn't have got in class and she has certainly dealt with it better than some adults I've seen. Festivals can be a bit of a harsh experience and sometimes the cards are stacked against you before you even set foot on stage. I've seen marks deducted for one particular song or move and how do you explain that unlucky coincidence to a young child and what lesson does it teach? I would still rather spend a week alternating between the exhausting high and los of competition than see DD buried in her iPad though.
  5. If anything turns you into a cynic it's a festival!
  6. Don't South East Ballet Scholars hold a summer school?
  7. Hope she's feeling better and gets to see Frankie another day xx
  8. Seriously though I've been prompted by a private message and I just want to reiterate here publicly; I can't and won't specify the school/area/section/child/teacher/teacher's cat involved but if you are concerned about this thread relating to your school then go and check your social media profiles for accuracy and fairness and then you won't have anything to worry about.
  9. Well I like to emerge from the shadows occasionally to stun you with my ballet acumen. Scores remain still today but SURELY on your own turf everyone who is anyone will know? Who are you impressing? Sycophants. Oh I just raised my arm up to put glass on shelf and realised I had a small plastic empty bun net packet cellotaped to the underneath of..me. How long has that been there and how and why? I suspect mini PV involved.
  10. Well I'm going to announce that DD has won the.. PreeDee Lors Anne. and then bask in the Facebook envy and congratulations. TRUE.
  11. The incident you described sounds like it happened during a festival and was corrected then and there whilst I'm taking about a Facebook post :-)
  12. I hope it was a genuine mistake because if you consider the alternative....
  13. A little bit of dance moms drama just to perk things up a bit. We've only done a couple of festivals so I don't know if this is a common place practice or just isolated to our local festival scene...? Have you ever seen another dance school post their results and think....hang on...I was there and that's not right!!? Especially when the result in question must have been a bitter pill to swallow judging from the behaviour backstage prior to the section starting. I'm sure it was just an oversight. ;-) ;-) ;-)
  14. Personally, I was confused as to how one could fit a tv into your boot - then it dawned on me, CAR boot. Such an esoteric observation is clearly wasted on the likes of me.
  15. Heard of a yes for year 7 boy's finals from DD's class - very exciting as he's the loveliest boy!
  16. Well, goes to show you don't know what positives will come from an audition. DD and her friend have just gone in for the first of two long awaited ballet exams and we were a bit worried that getting the "No" this week would knock their confidence a bit.. :-( Who should the examiner be? One of the judges from the LCB audition!! They were beside themselves with excitement!! "We KNOW HIM!! We KNOW him! He's got PINK SOCKS!!!!!" Didn't have to remind them to smile as they were beaming when they went it. You just don't know what's round the corner do you?
  17. It was a no for us but a yes for a friend for the LCB tour too! Can you go and watch the touring company?
  18. Oh where did my laughing emojis go? Drat. That post started with :-) :-) :-)
