  1. Great! Will see you at the prelim on 7th then!
  2. Hi Dancing10 We auditioned on the tuesday and the results arrived I think a week later by letter.
  3. Thanks Lema, good luck to your dd at finals too
  4. Thanks Dancing10. She auditioned at Tring on 2 Dec.
  5. I'm sure it is on there - under fees and downloads. £3885 per term years 7-9. Edited to add - I just looked and closing for applications was last Frii 22 Jan, but they might still accept an application if you phone the office and speak to them direct.
  6. The answer is some of both, they have some scholarships and have boarding I think local to the school, but I don't know all the details. We live ten mins from there so not boarding something we would need to worry about! I think their applications close this week so if you are interested contact them ASAP. Prelims are 7 Feb.
  7. Which time slot were you? We were the first one, 10am. Yes, I don't think you can have any expectations when it comes to the Royal! Hope your dd enjoyed herself.
  8. Thanks balletmum20, DD isn't auditioning for Hammond, but very happy with finals for the two she has. She is auditioning for YDA as well on 7th Feb. (Did Royal yesterday but not expecting anything from that one.) Looking forward to meeting you and your DD at the finals for Tring and Elmhurst!
  9. Letter just arrived from Elmhurst - DD has been invited back to finals! She will be so happy as she loved it at the school. Tring funding audition and Elmhurst finals, all rather exciting
  10. There is some kind of provision though I am not sure quite what PV
  11. Yes, it was highest ranked school in its borough, above the London Oratory!
  12. Hi We were at RBS today and they said up to two weeks and email. DD enjoyed herself in the audition, BUT was quite shocked to hear the panel discussing some candidates during the audition. She said they thought the music was drowning them out but she could hear. You really would expect them to be discreet but apparently not!
  13. Sorry, does anyone know who danced the matinee yesterday? My daughter went with her school and was full of admiration for the dancer who danced the girl in Two Pigeons but doesn't know her name, and would like to find out. Many thanks
  14. Did they say a week? On Tuesday they said could be up to two ...
  15. Isn't it nice that they let the parents watch the last bit Danceintherain? Good luck to your DD, is it year 8 she applying for?
  16. Good luck for today at Royal ballet queen! Is that for year 8?
  17. My DD is auditioning this year (For year 7 next year) and is doing IF, and has started beginner pointe. But all the auditions are very basic and would be pitched for children who are at various grades. Plus the schools don't base who they offer places to on grades done, just on who they like at the auditions.
  18. Just back from Elmhurst. School is lovely. Very warm and welcoming. Facilities all purpose built and seem fantastic. DD enjoyed the audition!
  19. I don't know for sure but think Hammond have latest application dates? Good luck to your DS jennyboydance.
  20. Off to Elmhurst tomorrow morning, DD excited, and I am really looking forward to seeing the school and getting a feel for it. I have heard lots of positive things about the school from teachers and parents so very interested to see what it is like.
  21. I haven't got anything useful to offer in the line of tutu training but just at this entire thread
  22. Hi Danceintherain DD has Elmhurst for year 7 next Tuesday. Good luck to your DD and thanks for the wise words to us all on the yr 7 rollercoaster.
  23. Hi Mae989 My DD lusts after swaybacks and doesn't have them, but she also doesn't have hypo extended knees. However, with religious daily hamstring and calf stretching she has developed a much better line at the back of the knees. Her teacher says you don't have to have sway backs, but the knees should be 'fully engaged' if that makes sense?
  24. I've made my first ballet related spreadsheet - does that count as a NY Resolution? (Anyhow I feel I've made some unfathomable leap from novice ballet mum to a superior breed known as the 'advanced balletco mum'.) Happy New Year PetalViolet - hopefully see you at pick up/drop off today?
