  1. Yes, wishing all the boys auditioning today for Elmhurst who long to go there, get the good news they are hoping for!! My DD is so excited about just being back at the school tomorrow, she loved it so much when we visited for the initial auditions. It seems a wonderful place for children to study at, and provides top notch ballet training. Fingers crossed for you all and let us know how it went. x
  2. Ah, ok, thanks for clearing that one up LTD!
  3. I thought there were 14 already in year 7 and 8, so are they going to 15 potentially then? At the audition insight day we went to in October Mr Powney did say they could take up to 15 in a year.
  4. Waiting mum - is this a new thing then? I'd never heard of the place being conditional on doing dance class with current year before?
  5. Congrats to you Aklf on your DDs place at WL!! That is fantastic. Was she on the reserve list at Tring too?
  6. Not exactly ballet related, but my elder daughter auditioned this week for Arts Ed school in London for signing and drama course and I got a call this morning she has got a place for year 9! She will be so happy. Just have to hope we have good news in next few weeks for younger DD who is waiting to do finals for YDA and Elmhurst ... I'm going to be broke though ...
  7. Congrats Aklf, sugar pumpkin, dizzyballetmum and anyone else with a yes who i have missed! Great news for your DC.
  8. and .... Gracefulasabutterfly?? Fingers crossed for everyone waiting for the results today!
  9. As far as I understand it they only would have offered as many boarding places as they had, I think the issue is more that they can end up filling most/all of the beds with paying students before the funding auditions have happened.
  10. sorry to hear that dance fanatic. Onwards and upwards for Elmhurst next week x
  11. Wonderful and inspiring post Krishell! I saw your post about your dd on upper schools thread. Fantastic news for her xx
  12. Really sorry Pointeyourtoes. Was that for year 8? Do try and remember how well your DC has done though, finals for WL is incredible achievement,
  13. Good luck to everyone waiting for WL results - did they say when you would hear? I think they are normally fairly quick.
  14. How did it go for the WL year 7 auditions yesterday??
  15. Sorry DanceFanatic meant to ask how many girls were auditioning for year 8 yesterday? And did they audition with the older ones or in separate groups? My DD knows 2 girls who were auditioning for year 9 there yesterday.
  16. Oh Dancefanatic so sorry to hear she felt that way. It must be very nerve wracking and I can only imagine how hard it must be to keep one's mind in check in that situation. The fact she did get asked to finals is a massive achievement and she mustn't forget that. But if she feels it is not the school for her and you too then that is perfectly valid. Not all schools are right for everyone, even WL! Fingers crossed for Elmhurst. My DD loved it there too and is looking forward to the 15th too!
  17. How did it go for those at WL yesterday? Good luck to year 7 DDs going today!
  18. Yep good luck tomorrow Dancefantic, Poor DD no wonder she is short tempered at the mo. It is a stressful time! Lema, glad you finally got your letter from Tring. Who knows there may be movement on the reserve list soon as they have to say yes or no by Friday and those who are going for Royal may well say no!
  19. WL auditions this week, Is it year 7s on one day, and the older grades on the other? Hope you all have a good experience and fingers crossed for some positive results!
  20. Worth bearing in mind that YDA have week night boarding facilities in the same street as the school, so there is the option for kids to stay there some nights during the week. I know various children do that, if they live just outside London.
