I agree with BillyElliot, even though the competition is so stiff, we are indeed very lucky to have such good vocational schools in the UK and also funding where needed. Good Luck to your daughter x

I can't believe how much you're all being charged !!

I have had lots of fit and well certificates for my children for various auditions, filming etc and I've never paid more than £15. We live in SE london !

Hi Spax, My dd is starting in September and I'm pretty sure you can't. They kit them out in the first week and we have to supply the name tapes so they can have the joy of sewing them in themselves !! Lucky them !

My dd is 11 and at Tring and they do 17.5 hours per week ,plus rehearsals for shows, choreo etc on top, so Pippinpointe what you're trying to say is accurate , and this is why places at vocational schools are so sought after !

Thank you everyone ! Dd is very lucky that a place was turned down and I know it was a very hard and emotional decision for the mum and daughter who declined the place. Its a bit like an organ donor giving another child a chance of a life they really want. Its been a very emotional week !

Hello ballet peeps !, Does anyone know what the accommodation is like for year 7 girls at YDA ?. DD has been offered a place but we haven't seen the living quarters yet and I know it's all about the training, but it would be great to get some inside info ....... Thank you x

Sadly it's a waiting list place for my DD ( only 2 on the list though). She has got YDA though so not too sad, and you never know....... x
