    Room 101

Two years ago I struggled through the snow on bus and train to my dentist appointment in Lewes only to find a notice pinned on the door to say that unfortunately all the appointments that day had been cancelled due to the dentists not being able to get to the Practice!! I just went down the road to Bills for hot chocolate!!
  2. Yes agree about the Koreans I thought number 418 was sure to go through but he didn't .....but there you are. I'm assuming in South Korea they do have a more Russian style training. I know our Brighton teacher I'm pretty sure did some teaching there some years ago now though.
  3. So glad Harrison Lee got through! And Ive had my eye on both the girls Rebecca Blenkinsop and Bianca Scudamore so great for them too! There's a great range in ability of candidates in this competition as some of the younger ones have only just got Intermediate level so obviously their potential is what is being spotted. No luck this time for your son CeliB but he will go far in the future I have no doubt about it at all! It's a bit sad when the finalists are announced in a way as you can sense so many of the others will be disappointed after having worked so hard but no doubt will have gained in confidence in other ways from the experience. What a thing to look back and say you took part in! Now to catch up with it all I think my partner would like to parcel me off to a hotel for the week when this is on so perhaps next year Lausanne for the week?
  4. Oh dear I thought it was only the finals they were completely Livestreaming so have missed the older boys classical selections. I just hope they show on YouTube tomorrow now!! They are all so talented and I can see its a pretty exhausting week with all the different classes and coaching sessions and then keeping up with general practising and remembering what the coaches have said to you and so on. It's sometimes difficult when you are tired to keep positive all the time but most of them are being extremely mature about it all wonderful to see in such young people
  5. He is looking fine and confident enough to ask a question which is great......but I would particularly like to see him doing something more classical as he does excel more in this style I think. I still can't get over seeing him a young man now ......no longer a boy! I'm still looking out for a young lady now who trains where my friends DD in Sydney attends ....Olivia Betteridge. There was a very good Korean (male) dancer in the livestream today(have only seen half of it though) I hope we are going to see some class work before the end of it all
  6. Wifi time over till I get home tonight! However I did note that at the beginning of live streaming they announced that there is going to be a PDF file available on the website with all the candidates names and NUMBERS! This was one of the points I raised but didn't answer in the email!! Looks like many others have been asking for this and they have responded so well done them!!
  7. Yes I think it was him who was interviewed on the first day.
  8. Yes I agree with you Mimi there did seem to be more coverage that way .....hopefully they will get this livestream right by next year!! They did reply to,my email.....the next day.....which was very good I thought.....but only answered one of the three points raised. Yesterday one of the judges was being interviewed by a very obviously young interviewer and was asked if she wanted to see a clip of her Prix Contemporary piece and she said "no not really" but they showed it anyway!! You can catch up with livestream on YouTube though.
  9. Well second attempt at sending am in London having to use wifi in coffee stops and it's not always that good my last post didn't go so am just checking this will before redo
  10. At last CeliB!! A whole 5-6 mins with your DS in a coaching session!! If you haven't seen it yet it's about 50 mins into the livestream .....(was about 15.50 -56) roughly!! Enjoy! I quite like this particular piece as choreography.....will watch again tomorrow anyway! I'm also trying to follow Cooper Cridland from Sydney.
  11. Ive sent an email to Prix de Lausanne saying we are not seeing enough of current candidates! I really don't want to waste time seeing the judges past performances .......if they are going to interview them then ask more about their judging skills and how will go about this etc. It's obvious they are filming quite a bit of this so in the end I don't see why there can't be several live streams from the different classes/coaching sessions etc ...which you can choose to watch the one you want etc! Sorry keep moaning but I don't think the Coleridge is that good at all so far still!!
  12. Ive just caught up with one of the Australians Harrison Lee he is quite young but looking good.....no 204......better check that my memory is terrible anyway back to the livestream .....not so bad now know can catch up the next day though. Also just seen your DS introduce himself CeliB......when will we see him dance.....so frustrating
  13. Oh no not a bus strike! I need the 77 and 87 to be working from Vauxhall!! To,get where I need to go. Otherwise very long walks will be involved! Hope it's called off! Is it ALL the buses?
  14. Urdang or London Studio Centre would be great choices. Urdang is just down the road from both Sadlers Wells Theatre and London Central Ballet studios so great location.
  15. That's what I thought!! Same here just a quick spot of him. I really hope things will pick up with this live streaming but you can at least catch up with it on Youtube the next day. I'd probably like constant live streaming coming from all the different activities so you can dip in and out when have time but realise this is not very practical but it would be nice to see at least one whole class from the groups of boys and girls before the end of the week!! One hour a day though is not really enough for this competition I think.
  16. Ive messed up again to day with timings!! Must be my aged brain ......but on their website it said the live streaming was to be at 4pm (GMT +1) Well we are in GMT at mo so wasn't sure whether it meant 4pm or 5pm!! When I tuned in at 4 to be on the safe side it was just finishing. I know the Swiss are an hour ahead but now I see what the above time means finally doh!! Their time 4pm which is minus one for UK! So 3-4pm for us! Oh well tomorrow then One good thing is I caught up with the first half of yesterday live streaming on YouTube. It seems very weighted towards the girls at mo and I miss the past years "what's happen in today". And "on the spot" blog videos......they don't seem to be doing these this year so I think in the end will be seeing less of the candidates unfortunately. I think I caught a tantalising glimpse of your DS CeliB in the background ......in class but will message you for what I think his number is but to be honest unless today of course there was more on the boys ....yesterday there wasn't much. I'm looking out for a couple of Australians from Sydney as well that Ive been asked to look out for by friends there!! So ....so far all a bit frustrating!!
  17. My train journey home afterwards is usually a good time to write things down! Though this week I'm staying up especially so I can go over to Battersea on the Thursday to pick up some chisels my partner has won on eBay!! I didn't really think much about it until Ive just seen a picture of them ......look quite weighty .....just what I need ha ha! He says never mind will keep you fit grrrr!
  18. Me too!! It's just that as it is LIVE one doesn't want to use that time seeing things from the past!! That could be on a different thread! One wants to see as much LIVE action as possible as it's only for a short time really. Hopefully they will eventually appear on YouTube so it will be possible to catch up with bits missed. Well here goes hoping things actually work today!
  19. Yes that's correct Porthesia. CeliB I haven't seen him dance yet .....comment was on the photo! I only saw about half the live stream because it wouldn't work properly at first the site kept crashing! Usually once they start to put the daily video blogs and "what's on today" etc you get more of a chance to see around.......at least I hope the live stream isn't going to be instead of those because you can save them and Ive still some from 2013! The bit I did see today wasn't brilliantly satisfactory as it consisted largely of an interview with one of the judges and kept showing his dancing at the Prix from some years ago....nice .....but it's 2015 students I want to see!!
  20. Many thanks for doing that so quickly Janet!!
  21. Whoops .....moderators you may have to remove above post as I forgot and named a child .....or perhaps put DS where the name is. Sorry CeliB!
  22. Just been to Facebook and have at least seen the piccies! CeliB recognised your DS .....your comment made me laugh....he looks great though lol!
  23. Has anyone had any luck yet with the Prix de Lausanne I know it's the first day etc but cannot get anything from the site. In 2013 when I was into this I was able to download and App on to the IPad from where it was really easy to access the blogs and news and videos etc though there was no daily live streaming back then. Doesn't seem to be an App this year. When I just tried to access the live streaming it came up with error 503.
  24. Well done to DD Lema ......do let us know her reaction ......Imbet she will guess as soon as she sees you!!
  25. Great experience for her Pastel....wishing her best of luck. Is this to win money towards training or just for satisfaction of competing?
