Emeralds
I think it was just The Handmaid's Tale opening night that the musicians had agreed not to strike on. I didn't see any report of what pay or contracts the company had offered them though. I still think this idea of relocating to Manchester (which is small and already well served by Opera North) and staging operas in both Manchester and Londoh is idiotic and will result in their demise. The Arts Council are taking a wonderfully talented orchestra and valuable opera company and wantonly destroying both.

MAB
I've a horrible felling that this may be the beginning of the end for ENO.
Scheherezade
Shocking, disgraceful, unbelievable. And what really saddened me was that I couldn't even feel surprise.
Sim
How appalling and insensitive. They should all just walk out immediately. If this is how ENO treats their artists then I'm sorry, but they don't deserve to continue as an opera company.
alison
Unfortunately, I suppose the opera company as such and the management aren't entirely one and the same. Where is the Culture Minister in all this?
