The programme of new works for 2023 also sounds exciting ... given the success of the Unbound Festival. Janite
San Francisco Ballet are doing a digital season 7 shows from Nutcracker to the end of June. It looks interesting and I remember how much I enjoyed all their ballets in lockdown. https://www.sfballet.org/tickets/2021-season/ https://youtu.be/GvHkwfmRcn4 Edited October 27, 2020 by Janite

That does sound enticing.
Jeannette
Wonderful news from SFB! A true digital season with complete works - either full-evening ballets or triple bills of complete one-act works. However, it is not cheap - $34 for access to 1 show (for 24 hrs) or $289 for full season pass (longer access for ea show). The latter half of PacificNW Ballet’s digital season will also be like this...full works in spring/early summer. Janite
I have been gifted the whole season and apart from being very excited about this I wondered if anyone has a good knowledge of SFBlallet dancers and who I could be looking our for. I will also post as I watch, though I am not as knowledgable as many on here I hope to give you a flavour of them.

Janite
I was listening to an interview with France Chung in which she said that one of the reasons she joined SFBallet is because they pay so well.
Cherilyn
Midsummer is absolutely gorgeous! In general, I love this production and to see SFB perform feels like such a luxury. Here's my review. Has anyone else watched it yet?
DanJL
Lovely review! Yes, I watched it this afternoon and also thought this was a beautiful production. A very enjoyable start to the digital season 🙂
alison
I hadn't realised this was on. I'm not a fan either of the production or of the first act, but I may tune in for the second act, which I do like

SheilaC
Although I bought a full subscription I just can't work out how to access the streaming. Any tips? (SFB do give some advice but I still can't work out what to do!)
DanJL
I found I had to set a password first, after clicking on the link in an email I was sent. On the login I clicked the set new password button. Once I'd done all that and signed in, I was directed to a page with the stream (think I had to scroll down a bit to get to it). This is all assuming you watch on a laptop, I didn't try the other options.
SheilaC
Thank you so much, DanJL. I did manage to do it in the end- but might forget, so will be glad to turn to your advice next time!
Janite
If you have got the season the Virtual Gala has just been added to the package.
Ian Macmillan
From today's Links, an announcement by SFB that the premiere of Cathy Marston's Mrs Robinson has had to be dropped for Covid related 'obstacles' and that an existing film of her Snowblind will be substituted. https://www.broadwayworld.com/san-francisco/article/Cathy-Marstons-SNOWBLIND-Replaces-MRS-ROBINSON-on-San-Francisco-Ballets-Program-20210219

Luckily, the troupe just made a 48-minute sampler of its recent virtual gala available to view for one week via YouTube. This includes a pdd from Mrs. Robinson that Cathy Marston and the dancers were able to create. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gjejgK61gjs&utm_source=ActiveCampaign&utm_medium=email&utm_content=We+re+sharing+something+extra+special+with+you&utm_campaign=21+E-news+0219
Ian Macmillan
Many thanks - and well, well. What a predatory Mrs R - Anne Bancroft should be proud! (At around 28 minutes in). (Entirely by the way - is it correct that Ms Bancoft did not supply the arched leg for the legendary film poster ... and that it was Linda Gray, of Sue Ellen and Dallas fame?) Cherilyn
Has anyone watched Jewels yet? All around I enjoyed the production, but was not a fan of Froustey's interpretation in Rubies. Here's my review - would love to hear what others thought.
