TwoLeftFeet
Hi all, Still trying to decide on a course of action for DD for September 2019! Are there any one year courses for ballet out there? I know there is a pre-vocational in Rambert that combines ballet and contemporary but its only one day per week - I looking for something Monday to Friday for a one year duration. Does that exist? Pointetoes
Have a look at foundation courses, they are one year courses but I can’t think of any that are purely ballet ( neither can DD and she is about to start applying for 18+
invisiblecircus
How old will your DD be on 1st September next year and what is her aim after completing the one year?
sarahw
KS Dance offer tailored places to students - may be worth speaking to them...
Anna C
Assuming your DD is looking at a one year course post-GCSE then ideally you'd want a Foundation Course. The only one I know of which could potentially be purely ballet focused is this individually tailored at London Studio Centre: http://www.londonstudiocentre.org/courses/specialist-one-year-programme

From my research (except for the obvious juniors) I thought LSC only accepted 18yr olds +. thank you.
swanprincess
London Russian Ballet School might be worth contacting?

The entry criteria for the Foundation course is the same as for the BA Hons degree, however the one year Specialist Course appears to be individually negotiated with no academic requirements.
2dancersmum
Northern Contemporary Dance School offer a 1 year full time course - includes ballet but presumably more contemporary - used to be a foundation course but changed title I believe.I don't know any of the entry requirements though. The Foundation Course itself does appear to be one year post A'Level (unlike, say, Millenium who take post-GCSE students for their Foundation Course). However, that specialist one year programme at LSC doesn't have specific entry criteria; as Pictures says, it seems to be a separately negotiated course tailored to each student. Best to contact LSC directly, I think.
