  1. Well I found some Bloch split pro shoes that looked flexible which I've fallen in love with and has 3 inch heels but they were perhaps a little too expensive! I might have to settle for the So Danca or Capezio theatrical ones unless I can find some second hand.
  2. Were the bendy ones worth it? See I've never worn tap shoes so this is all new! Pointe shoes almost seem simple as I know what I'm talking about now
  3. The Bloch ones sound good, I do want them to be soft because if I can't point my foot I think I'll get really annoyed! What style were they? Are there any good ways to soften them?
  4. How do you know if they have a reinforced heel? If anyone has a second hand pair in a size 3 they want to sell that would be useful! Capezio is sounding like the best choice, are they comfortable and easy to dance in?
  5. Thank you I'll definitely check out the capezio ones then unless anyone knows a good place to buy them second hand/cheaper? For jazz shoes I was looking at the Bloch neo flex, are they any good? Or capezio? I might be able to get to a shop to try them on at some point. Thats a good point, I think the stage is relatively old but would changing the soles make them less slippy? I'll be dancing a lot in them so I think I quite like less friction...
  6. Looking for some jazz shoes, slip on ones without laces. Roughly a size 3. Anyone have any to sell? Thanks!
  7. Definitely more of the New Yorker style shoe, the director would not appreciate the pink elastic and I think I'd also like a higher heel, although I haven't danced in character shoes before. Thanks I'll check out Capezio. I think I found some Bloch and So Danca ones on sale, how do they compare or capezio? I'm looking for something comfortable as well as pretty as I think being one of the only dancers in the show I might be doing a lot! Im looking at the jazz shoes without laces, are the cheaper copies ok or worth avoiding? Thanks!
  8. I'm looking to invest in some character shoes for a musical I'm in and I was wondering if anyone could recommend a good, decent height shoe? I have small narrow feet. Also can anyone recommend a good rehearsal shoe, possibly a slip on jazz shoe, that isn't too expensive? Thanks!
  9. I'm looking for a pair of character shoes for musical theatre. Roughly a size 3 but I have a narrow foot. I need a decent height heel so definitely not the RAD grades style shoe! Was wondering if anyone had a pair they were looking to sell? Also possibly a pair of jazz shoes too, same size? Thanks!
  10. I'm glad it helped a bit, if you have any questions or suggestions for stuff you'd like me to write about, or recipes you'd like to have I can put them up. I'm working on a post about starting out on a gluten and dairy free diet. I know how hard it is so I'm hoping this post might make it a little easier for someone else
  11. I've taken a few night buses in the early hours of the morning. I'm not from London and I have always felt completely safe. There's a website, I can't remember which one though, which shows you crime rates and things in certain areas which I guess you could take a look at? Alternatively if you are worried about walking in the dark alone from stations then it might be worth choosing a house closer to a bus stop or station to cut down on that distance? For short term places to stay if you are looking for a house or want to check out an area, airbnb can be reasonable enough and some places offer discount for longer (week) stays.
  12. This job looked so interesting until the dance graduate part. I'm not so I guess I can't apply. I have a lot of experience actually looking after children and I love ballet but I guess they want a graduate.
  13. I'm 20 and had my first driving lesson today. I haven't been dancing as long as most people but I feel it definitely helped. The instructor said I had a very good first lesson. I think being able to coordinate my feet was helpful and also learning the order of each process felt a bit like learning choreography?!
  14. Yes they aren't the best quality but if you are just starting out or on a budget sometimes you have to deal with them. I tend to get most of my stuff from places like Holland and Barret which unfortunately is a bit more expensive! Nakd bars are the best, I love them. Thank you so much for taking the time to read it, I really appreciate the feedback as it's hard to judge after you spend so long writing it.
  15. Can you have props? How about a nightmare before an exam where she turned up with a giant pencil and can't write?
  16. I'm very tempted to book tickets to see Winters Tale again. I saw the cast with Cuthbertson and Lamb last time. I might rebook for that unless anyone can suggest a different cast that might be interesting to see? I really liked it last time.
  17. I'd better get saving, I have a feeling it's going to feel expensive! I don't know whether to choose based on the show or the dancers though, what would be the top pick to see? I don't know all that much about the Bolshoi other than I definitely want to see them!
  18. Thought I should add I work with people a good few years older than me. I haven't got an awful lot of personal experience with these things but I learned a lot from them talking!
  19. That sounds like a good plan, definitely your safety is the most important thing. I hope you find someone lovely though, I think they might be out there somewhere!
  20. Yes it's an app. I'm sure there are dangers with all sorts of dating sites. A bit of judgement, common sense and a few sensible precautions are definitely necessary no matter where you 'meet' someone
  21. It can? Sorry I didn't mean to suggest something wrong, I just know there are some nice interesting people on there and you search by location so you wouldn't have to move to Michigan to find someone maybe myself and my friends have been lucky?
  22. Just wanted to say good luck! And if you haven't already heard of or tried it, Tinder is good even just for amusement. The whole swiping right or left thing makes it very easy I know people who've gone on dates with some really interesting people off it.
